[Resolved] GC6GFDV - The Incongruous Challenge

The idea is really simple: Find caches with cache attribute combinations which don't make sense. For every combination you get a point. If there are two combinations on one cache, you get two point and so on

10 points are required

These are the combos I came up with:

  • Significant Hike - Short hike (less than 1km)
  • Significant Hike - Park and Grab
  • Long Hike (+10km) - Takes less than an hour
  • Long Hike (+10km) - Medium hike (1km-10km)
  • Long Hike (+10km) - Short hike (less than 1km)
  • Long Hike (+10km) - NO/NOT Significant Hike
  • Night Cache - NO/NOT Recommended at night
  • Night Cache - Available at all times
  • Difficult climbing - Wheelchair accessible
  • Climbing gear - Wheelchair accessible
  • Cross Country Skis - NO/NOT Available during winter
  • Snowshoes - NO/NOT Available during winter
  • Snowmobiles - NO/NOT Available during winter
  • NO/NOT Seasonal Access - NO/NOT Available during winter
  • Tree Climbing - Wheelchair accessible
  • May require swimming - Wheelchair accessible
  • Wheelchair accessible - NO/NOT Stroller accessible
  • NO/NOT Parking available - Park and Grab

I hope that makes sense :)
Thanks and cheers

I made a checker but I have a problem in leaving the number of finds open
The combinations are set at 1 cache per combination, at the moment there are 6 sets required which is not what you asked for but I like to asked how many different combi's you have to see if I did not make any mistakes.

The link to this checker is http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC6GFDV/21312

Hi There

First of all thanks for this :) looks already pretty close.

This is what the checker spit out:
GCMBNB Olympische Disziplin - Nachtcachen
GC1ZWCR Der Geist vom Fischerberg (NC)
GC17MAC A Pride of ??
GC23DC9 Bats in the Forest
GC2VREP Nifty Nocturnals - Point Nepean
GC33TAT Whisky Business
GC4K089 Project MUNICH2014 - Mia san Giga!
GC61V6E The Gear Check Mk III
GC61V6E The Gear Check Mk III

So my original idea was to get 10 combinations no matter if they are different or not e.g. If you find ten caches where every single one of them has the combination "Cross Country Skis - NO/NOT Available during winter", you get 10 points and qualify.

However I do like the idea of needing to have different sets :) So needing 7 different sets out of the above 18 possible sets, seems to be reasonable. If it's easier to code that each set has to be on a different cache, I'm fine with that. It's probably better anyway otherwise somebody creates just a single bogus cache which gets you qualified.

Thanks again and cheers :)

The checker is fixed to your requirements i.e. 7 unique combi's

You might want to double-check the GC code - GC6GFDV is a multicache which has been published.

Sweet :)

I just ran a couple of tests and this one came up in the Script Output:
  • GC Account is Brengun1
  • Combos:
Night Cache - Available at all times: 4
Significant Hike - Park and Grab: 1
  • Caches:
    GC44G6E one hill one stump
GC45YG9 R.I.P. Nature. POLEverised, the original.
    GC3KFP1 Passing By
    GC31VK0 Kids Paradise Tooradin style
    GC5Q2MF C.F. 40 - Wherigo Wander #15

The problem is that the GC5Q2MF doesn't have any of these combos. Is it just a glitch (maybe the CO changed the attributes recently) or is it in the checker?

And yes you're absolutely right - I messed up the GC code > it's GC6GFDQ

Thanks again and let me know if you're ever in Melbourne - I owe you a parma and a pint.

I raised the GC code earlier.

Looks like vogelbird made a typo in the tag: the Significant Hike - Park and Grab combination is looking for a negative attribute of Park and Grab instead of positive.

Your wright, there is a typo error . Well spotted. I have corrected this.

There is a problem with the Gccode. Is this the correct code because GC6GFDV was published as GC6GFDV - #microadventure - forgetting a Mountain.

Yes you're absolutely right - I stuffed up the GC code > the correct one is GC6GFDQ
