This is similar to my previous question regarding the accumulation of points for finding caches - GC2H6BF

That was resolved nicely - but the response was that the additional qualification of looking at a group of caches and getting X points for all of the caches and Y points for finding 1/2 of the caches in the group - would not be possible. Is that right?  Or is there a way to do this counting of points for individual caches and then add points for all or 1/2 of a group/series of caches?

The problem is still the same. You second rule is:
2) Completing more than half of the active caches in a series earns 1 point.
The problem is "active caches". The checkers don't know if a cache a user has not find is active or not. Therefore it is impossible to automatic know if you have found more then half of a series. If a cache is disabled in a series with 6 caches 3 finds is enough for a bonus point but if it is active it is not.

There rule also has a strange result if a cache you have found becomes inactive. If you have 3 finds i a series with 5 caches you get the bonus point but if one of your finds is disabled you only have found 2 of 4 active caches. That is not more then half and the bonus point disappears

I now se that the question asks for a fix. Any rule of find in a serie where knowing if the unlogged caches are disables or archived is possible.
Just removing the word active will make the challenge possible to write a checker for.

"2) Completing more than half of the caches in a series earns 1 point."

But the problem might be that it is against the challenge guidelines when finding disabled or archived caches cant be part of a challenge.
I agree - go for the simplest approach - regardless of active/disabled/archived - just need to answer the simple question - "Are half of the series found by the user?" - so that would make this possible to create a checker for this one - Thanks.
Yes that would be possible. Removing the active as i did in my second post makes i possible. But i don't know if there is a script for that.
But that is a big differences on most series where you now have more then half.
3 of 6 vs 4 of 6
I think that was the most common number of caches in a series

But you might have the problem if the challenge is allowed then according to guidelines. I would ask a reviewer about that change
