Helping out in different ways awards points. Using the site daily also awards you.

Right now one of the most efficient ways probably is to be active in this QA forum, ask questions and answer questions. As mentioned in another answer, selecting a best answer also helps.

Last year, I wanted to boost myself from golden to ruby-red (top 1000) and did a small donation. Imagine my surprise at being boosted to sapphire-blue (top 500) just from that. (While ganja may not wish to mention this in order to not be accused of self-promotion, I can share this true story.)

This year I wanted to finally collect the missing red because it also looks good, and got it (for now…) just from using the site a lot (including interacting here, though I probably could do more… although not much is in my area of expertise, or things are already answered well here).

Yes, I've found small donation = big points. I'm not the sort of person who'll make a donation simply to buy points, but (without wishing to blow my own trumpet) I have made small donations in gratitude when a feature I've wanted has been implemented (e.g. improved region/county mapping for the UK), and noticed that my PGC points jump up afterwards.

I think there is no way to "boost" it. You just have to be busy and diligently and collect some points here and some points there. On http://project-gc.com/Home/PGCPoints you can see, what is rewarded with points.

Or you just make a big donation to PGC... wink

PS: Selecting the best answer also gets points - for you and for the one who wrote it...

You also get points for placing challenge caches with a checker.

Geht raus in die Natur und cacht, dann wird man am meisten Belohnt mit Erfahrung und den schönsten Lokation auf unserer Welt.

Wehr es braucht, bekommt sogar für gefundene Caches, Punkte bei Projekt GC.
