[Awaiting feedback] GC2V5HV is UNSUITABLE for online checker

Hi to the forum moderators -

Can you please list the 2011 challenge cache https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC2V5HV Get Your Boots On Challenge (Southern Alps & NZ) as a challenge which is UNSUITABLE for any online checker?

Unfortunately someone has produced altitude checkers wrongly labelled as "Unlinked checker for GC2V5HV" e.g.
https://project-gc.com/Challenges//80533 and https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC2V5HV/43426.

These are ONLY altitude checkers. They DO NOT check for the other aspects of the Get Your Boots On Challenge. However these fake checkers are misleading geocachers into thinking they have qualified for the challenge.

It wouldn't be a problem if these altitude checkers were clearly labelled as PARTIAL checkers for the altitude aspect of the Challenge, but unfortunately the enthusiastic developer doesn't acknowledge the other requirements of the Challenge:

*** Only caches that have been completed after the publishing date for this cache listing can be counted towards this challenge.

*** You cannot count caches that you have used for my Four Seasons Challenge cache (near Nelson) towards this challenge cache.

*** At least one of the caches in each altitude range must require a one hour walk.

Obviously this last requirement, a one hour walk, CANNOT be incorporated into any online checker.

I am the "someone" that created the checker, at the request of a player in your area.
Let me first clarify what "unlinked" means, per Project-GC's definitions. When a checker is "linked", it produces output that specifically indicates to the user that they do qualify for the challenge. It looks like this:

An "unlinked" checker acknowledges in the output that it is not associated with any particular geocache:

If someone is claiming a find on your cache using this checker, you are welcome to point out the checker does not actually say that they qualify for GC2V5HV, just that they qualify for "?".

I included the GC# in the tag, so that I would be able to remember which cache it was intended to be used for. I have changed the tag comment from "Unlinked checker for GC2V5HV" to "Find caches in various elevation bands. Checks partial conditions for GC2V5HV."

Unfortunately, it is not possible to fully block a cache from having a checker set up for it. However, if someone does ever set one up, you can post here to have it removed or altered.
