Finding 25 geocachers who fullfills a challenge?

Hi

In Denmark we have to prove that at least 25 Danish geocachers fullfills a challenge before a new challenge can be released.

Some can be done easily with existing statistic tools, but some can not.

Is there any easy way to check if 25 Danish (or other nationality) can log a challenge?

Hope to hear some good news about this.

This would still be helpful (AFAIK it still doesn't exist).

To make it more likely to find matching cachers, start with those in the CO's county/state/country who've found the most caches and work down from there.

What if you could select 25 (or whatever the number is) names from a list of folks you think might qualify and put their names in another name slot. You would have the option of, adding additional names by hitting a return after adding each name. Add first name, hit return and add another name, etc up to a reasonable number...25 is sutrely a reasonable number. This would be more efficient than running the checker 25 times using one name at a time. While this puts some of the burden on you it is better than doing one at a time.
Or you could have one slot and have the option of adding multiple name with a comma between them to indicate another name is being asked to be checked.

You don't need to make a complete run (hopefully, at least - you can terminate the run after finding 25 or whatever the limit is). The trick would be to get the most probable people tested first and have a smart end condition. Which, obviously, is the kind of thing that is easy to do for a human and very difficult for a program.

It would definitely be a nice feature. But imagine a run like that for Germany for example. The checker might take ~15 seconds to run per user, depending on what kind of checker it is.

There are (or has been) almost one million geocachers in Germany. Such run would take months.

An alternative would of course be to run it on the 1000 most active geocachers. But it's also those who are most resource heavy to be run. It's also not all challenges that actually are fulfilled by such criteria.

There is no easy and good solution to this.

Ok thought so. Would be a nice feature to have on project-gc if you could check the number of geocachers who fulfill a challenge.

There is no easy way. I would suggest using the statistics tools to find the cachers you believe are most likely to meet the conditions, then run the checker (which you also need) on them.
