Checkers for GC51B6F, GC5KMYB & GC55BE6

Hi
Could we have checkers for these three challenges:

GC51B6F - Explorer 162 Challenge
GC5KMYB - Explorer 171 Challenge
GC55BE6 - Explorer 172 Challenge

These are all "Explorer" challenges for which you have to find a cache in each of a given number of the 1km grid squares of an Ordnance Survey Explorer map. We already have checkers for some of the other Explorer challenges, for example GC5GPTF Explorer 160 Challenge. I would imagine it would be pretty straightforward to modify that checker to produce a version that handles each of these.

Thanks

As you say if any further issues arise they can be dealt with then.
No word from @Just-Us-Two.
Maybe we can mark this as complete, and if they come back with issues, I can solve them?

Yes this thread has been a bit of a marathon hasn't it. Thanks for all the work that you have done on it. Just-Us-Two has also been commenting on this thread recently so I think before closing it we ought to wait a couple of days to see if they want to do any further tests.

Could I just ask for one further little thing before we close this. I own a cache from this Explorer series - Explorer 160 Challenge (GC5GPTF). It already has a checker and that was done way back in 2018, and that's all fine. If I run it using my name it gives the example log below:

[colincactus](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=colincactus) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5GPTF/31228 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.

I have found caches in 257 areas (160 required)

If I do the same with one of the challenges that have been created in this thread - Explorer 145 Challenge (GC3ETP0) it gives the example log below:

[colincactus](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=colincactus) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC3ETP0/79282 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.

Note it doesn't have the line saying how many areas that you've found caches in and how many are required. The script output says I have found 229 but that information doesn't get included in the example log.

So long story short - would it be possible for you to add this line to the example logs for each of the challenges in this thread.

qrang has 234 grid squares and so easily qualifies
drsolly has 142 grid squares and qualifies as well
Explorer 131

So, I can't see the DDMS -> OSG conversion code in GSAK, since that happens internally in its code, not in the script. But, that cache should be in the same grid square as GC3B8DN (as reported by geocaching.com), and you don't have another find in the square... so that looks like the GSAK output is wrong... unless I'm misreading the output GC code (resolution isn't high enough - so I am kind of just guessing what the GC codes are).

In addition to that, your GSAK output shows some find in SP 80000 86000, and SP 84000 86000, but looking at map compare in PGC, I don't see that you have a find in those squares. I'm assuming there's some other discrepancies accounting for the differences, but I'm going to say that the checker is correct, and your GSAK output isn't, so I'm going to re-enable it.

Yes, this helps... I've already found one discrepancy - I think GC91FMT, (TL 02928 74988) should be in the TL 02000 74000 grid square... which it is in the checker, but in GSAK, it's in counted in TL 02000 75000 square. So, I'll have to look at the code and figure out why exactly that is (luckily, I can look at the code of the macro, even if it can't run it).

Ok I'll have a look at your two new ones

Explorer 232
I've found none in this map region and the checker correctly reports the same
Qrang has only 62 grid squares with finds so doesn't qualify
SimplySup easily qualifies (393 squares with finds)

Looking at the cache page the last one to log a find was lostfoundlostagain
They posted a screenshot of their GSAK results on 8 May 2023 showing 232 finds. Your checker now shows 266
Seems fair enough given they have cached for another year and a half since then

Explorer 279
I have only found 1 cache in this area and the checker correctly reports that I don't qualify
SimplySup doesn't qualify this time (only 84 grid squares filled)

Looking at the cache page the last one to log a find and post their proof was Clan-Wallace (five years ago!)
They had 285 grid squares on 31 Mar 2019. Your checker shows that now as 310.

Both of these look good to me

Alright, I've made an attempt on one of these to make a non-rectangular one... Trying to translate between Hugh's script, the GSAK macro and the OS grid references has my mind swimming a bit... it might be correct. But y'all seem to be an expert on whether these are correct or not - so if you could check this one out, and give feedback (before I associate it), I'd appreciate it.
(and if so, I'll merge this into Hugh's main script, and re-tag it there).

You have to find 150 caches in 150 squares. I got first on that one in 2015 when I had more than 150 finds. Running the checker now informs me I have 278 finds in that area but I do not qualify for the challenge.

I am noticing some differences between what my script reports and what the GSAK macro is reporting.
