Can someone create a checker to find 1888 of all ACTIVE caches in Hong Kong?

I clarified that the challenge is to find 1888 active caches (which just happens to be 88 percent).

Is that not allowed?

That will probably be too high but for you out of reach anyway because your score for Hong Kong is only 1248 caches.
When you place a challenge you have to fulfill your own challenge

I know -- could you create the checker now, so I can monitor my progress, so I know when I can place the cache.

However, that includes ARCHIVED caches as well. I was looking for a checker which only includes ACTIVE caches.

That is not allowed within the guidelines. You can not exclude caches which are archived.

Many apologies if I don't understand the challenge rules.

I know that it is NOT allowed to have caches that are archived or disabled:
2.12.10 "Requiring cachers to log caches that are disabled or archived"

But where does it say that for a challenge caches one can only count ACTIVE (i.e., non-archived and non-disabled) caches?

Just ask your local reviewer. But the general rule is that
" Challenge cache criteria must come from information broadly available on Geocaching.com and must be verifiable through information on Geocaching.com."

This info does not make any reference to active of archived caches

Secondly if you have a challenge for x number of caches and a cacher has reach this it should count but archived caches are excluded a cacher might not have fulfilled the challenge anymore a few weeks later

Yes, but only for Challenge caches published prior to April 2015, the so called legacy caches

I am sorry, I don't understand: where in the current challenge cache rules does it say that one can't do a challenge for a particular number of active caches??? Thank you.

It is a general rule as I am being told by HQ and my local reviewers. We should not take away finds which are made in the past. Your personal statistics also do not show your finds which are still active.

My understanding that the interpretation vogelbird is citing comes from an interpretation of the "Challenge cache criteria must be based upon the type of log, not on the log content."

You may or may not like the interpretation, but for the team writing checkers, we try not to write checkers we expect will be rejected. If the reviewer posts they will approve the challenge once the checker is written, it helps your case.
