GC8NGMG - Latitude / Longitude Challenge

Hello friends!
I need a checker for the challenge below.
Requirements:
Find at least 1 geocache with a distance equal to or greater than 75 degrees of latitude, between them;
Find at least 1 geocache with a distance equal to or greater than 50 degrees of longitude, between them.

I don't think this would be allowed under guideline 10.

Not acceptable
Challenges based on geographic areas other than countries, states/provinces, counties (or their local equivalent). For example, user-defined mapping polygons, latitude/longitude, radius, etc.

I don't think I explained it well!
What I want is something like this:

https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC85HAM/41662
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8ND6R/50131
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8ND6Z/50132

In order to log a successful find, geocacher must find one geocache separated by at least 75 degrees of latitude and one geocache separated by at least 50 degrees of longitude.
It doesn't have to be the same geocache for longitude and latitude, it can be one for latitude and one for longitude.

The guidelines specify that latitude and longitude are not allowed as challenge criteria. If you get approval from your reviewer I'll look at it, but as far as I can see it's not allowed.

I see the issue with the guidelines and do agree that the wording does say "Challenges based on geographic areas other than countries, states/provinces, counties (or their local equivalent). For example, user-defined mapping polygons, latitude/longitude, radius, etc."

Is this an interpretation issue - "find caches with all the minutes within N55" would not be allowed

but are the examples above different to that - if not, how is it then that the above three cited examples were all given checkers ?

It must be quite confusing for cachers looking at creating new challenges when they see those that are created having been given both checkers and then getting published (probably allowed due to the fact that a checker was provided) and yet they should not have been due to the fact that they are against the guidelines

In this case it is allowed because the challenge is just about spanned pairs, The only problem is that for this challenge there is no script yet.

I don't fully understand that requirement. Separated from which cache? From your challenge? In that case this is not allowed. Just requiring two caches 75 degree lat apart and another two 50 degrees lon apart would be acceptable however.

That's right!

See my profile statistics for example:

Latitude
Most Northerly cache found: N 41 ° 09.577, Where It All Began ... GC4XAHQ Portugal
Most Southerly cache found: S 34 ° 55.511, Brava Cache - Punta del Este GC19J0G Uruguay
They are 75 lat degrees apart

Longitude
Most Westerly cache found: W 058 ° 25.468, Palermo Uno GC56CTR Argentina
Most Easterly cache found: W 006 ° 58.275, PLAZA DE LA SOLEDAD Y LA GIRALDA GC6XKPH Spain
They are 52 lon degrees apart

Alright, working on a script.

Here you go:

https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8NGMG/50243

Let us know if it's suitable.

PS: The Most Westerly cache found and Most Easterly cache found are not necessarily the ones contributing to the biggest longitude difference. For you that is the case, but for example you could find your most westernly cache at W179° and your most easternly at E179° but they'd of course not be 358° apart but only 2°. Just in case you find someone where these do not coincide and start wondering.

edit: I just noticed there are some caches that should always be excluded, most notably these antipodal aka "drill a hole though earth" mysteries that are exaclty 180° from the final location such as GC4Q81D. Working on this, checker will be available again in a few minutes.

done

Hello PattuX

It works perfectly!

Your Post Scriptum is very relevant, that's right, if someone finds a geocache in W001, he will have to find another one in E049 or W051.

Thank you very much

Hi,
I think you could help me for challenges I plan to create
One of them is having 2 caches separated by at least 44 degrees long / and the other the same with 44 degrees lat
This is the first time I create challenges, with checkers, and I don't know either how to use other geocachers' checkers...
Would you kindly help me ?
thanks in advance
