Re: GC9CWW8 and GC9CWW6 - Challenge checker request - Jasmer light

I would like to create a light jasmer challenge as follows:

Light jasmer based on a country: i.e. to find all the months available in a country X (here it would be 2 challenges: a Luxembourgish one -GC9CWW8- and a Belgium one -GC9CWW6-).

There would be no need to find all the caches concerned in the concerned country (just the months available in the country are requested) which also allows players to complete the challenge without having to do this or that cache in Belgium or in Luxembourg at all costs (for exemple, I do qualify myslef for this challenge with caches found in France / Croatia / Slovenia / Germany / etc.).

I have looked at existing checker but was not able to find a similar one (the only one I have found request the find to be located in a country).

In fact, the checker would be something similar as having a blank Map - Hidden Month for the concerned countries.

I have pre discussed this idee with my local reviewer and it was accepted on principle, of course with the need of proper checker available (as requested in the guidelines).

Can you please tell me which months can be skipped for each checker because some reviewers ask for a minimum of two caches available for each month or alternatively if only two caches in different months are available in a perticular year just one month can be asked

Thanks for the swift reply. I am not sure I do understand the request. Indeed, there is no need that the cache found be in Belgium or Luxembourg. This is the exact same principle than a classic jasmer challenge: whatever where the player finds the cache is not important. What is important is to find a cache for each month a cache is available in Belgium. Therefore this is the exact same principle as a full jasmer but easier since some hidden months are not available in the country (Belgium or Luxembourg) and therefore the facto not reauested to comply with the challenge conditions.

I hope this provide the expected clarification but as mentionned here above I may have not welle understood the question. So feel free to come back to me.

Yes but you have to give me the months that a cache is available. so I can make the jasmer you want

Testing first with my profile, I see that the november 2002 is not excluded and the october 2002 is requested whereas it should not be.


On design, I guess that setting up such checker woukd reauire to modify it in the future if a months is not anymore available (cache archived for example) in Belgium. I guess that a dynamic checker based on cache available in the coubtry is not possible to set up technically and therefore your proposition is the current best match that would only require some monitroong from me over time (which is ok) and set up of checker modify acvordingly when (if) needed.

I just remember that I made a checker like yours but rather then requesting a perticular month they requested the required no of month per year. You ask for a cache found in 2000-07 but they asked for a checker for one month in 2000.
This way the reviewer allowed the checker not to be changed in the future and allowed cachers who found a cache in a neightboring country to substitude the cache for 2000-07

just the line "minHiddenDate:2003-06-01 , maxHiddenDate:2003-06-31" should be up to 2003-06-30 but I guess no impact.

However, the alternative checkers are not providing the expected results. Indeed they allow to use caches with the same years but with other months to comply with the conditions which is not aligned with the challenge I have in mind.

Therefore, i believe I will stick to the 1st checkers proposes which work well.
