Re: GC78W14 100 Hike attributes challenge checker request

Find 100 individual caches with the attributes "Significant Hike" and/or "Short Hike (< 1 km)" and/or "Medium Hike (1 - 10 km)" and/or "Long Hike (+10 km)".

Note that many caches have more than one "Hike" attribute. The checker will have to allow for this and ensure that an individual cache is only counted once, no matter how many different "Hike" icons it has.

Caches frequently have double-ups with the Significant Hike and each of the Short/Medium/Long Hike attribute icons. There are also double-ups using two of the Short/Medium/Long Hike icons (yes, even <1 km with >10 km). Triple-ups also occur with any two of the Hike Distance icons plus the Significant Hike icon. And I have found a quadruple-up with all four Hike icons on one cache...

A similar challenge is https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6K2DX_hike-it-challenge. However, testing the checker for GC6K2DX against my own finds, this checker doesn't seem to be quite correct. Pocket queries say I have found 68 individual caches with the Long Hike and/or Significant Hike icons (64 SH; 24 Long Hike; 20 with both SH & LH), but the GC6K2DX checker says I have 72 caches towards the challenge.

There's no hurry - just whenever someone gets around to it.

Thank you [I have realised that Pocket Queries only count the caches which are currently active, so that explains why my totals were different from the checker. (!)]

Unfortunately, I don't think this is the right checker yet. I think the checker is counting the total number of icons - which is not what I need for the challenge. The attribute totals from the checker you have made are exactly the same as the "Collected attributes" on my Project-gc profile stats page. I know that my finds include a decent number of caches which each have two or more different Hike icons, so the checker totals should be lower.

I need a checker which only counts each individual cache ONCE, no matter how many different "Hike" icons are on the cache. E.g. a cache which has icons for both "Significant Hike" and "Long Hike" must only count as ONE cache.

Is it possible to have a checker which tests for attributes "Significant Hike" OR "Short Hike (< 1 km)" OR "Medium Hike (1 - 10 km)" OR "Long Hike (+10 km)" for each cache? .

It only counts the caches once. When I ran it against my own profile with the original script I provided, I got 482 matches. With the new one, I only get 425 matches, which I think is correct. Also ran it against your profile and got 616 unique caches. Not sure where you see 68 matches for yourself, unless you also need the checker to be restricted to country, state or county?

I did a check on https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6K2DX_hike-it-challenge and found no error in the checker.
The checker only count unique GCcodes

To compair the results on pieterix checker I made a similar one with the Easy tagging script for your challenge

Thank you so much - I have just tried the second checker you provided http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC78W14/27859 and it does exactly what I want. And has a list of qualifying caches and D/T ratings as well :) !

Last night I was testing the first checker you provided http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC78W14/27858 which only counted up individual attributes. I didn't realise until just now that you had quietly edited your post and replaced version 27858 with version 27859. Hence the confusion.

Yes, I actually had a hunch that is what happened. Will have to refrain from quietly editing posts. :)
