thanks

I think this will require a new script. It is theoretically possible.

The reason I ask is that it is very hard to check if you have already qualified with a challenge like this and would take a lot of trawling of old caches - so a checker would be handy - obviously the alternative is to plan a 9 day streak of finds that would satisfy the requirements - but I'd like to see if I qualify first :-)
thanks

According to the OP's log he managed to find a solution without a checker. Would probably still be good to have a checker.

Transpires I had made a mistake with this on a manual check and so a checker would be very helpful
Thanks

I have created a script, almost from scratch.

After a lot of testing and winkling out bugs, it seems to work well. Can you give it a test and let me know... any criticism is welcome :-)

Hi that possibly works - I have a green light - however the listing does not indicate cache owners - one of the criteria is each cache has to have a different cache owner and so I would think it best to have this information generated too.
I would need to check each of thse caches to see if this does in fact work

many thanks - much appreciated

OK... I have modified the script to add a config item "uniqueOwners".... your tag has this set to true.

Can you give it another try please

I used this checker a long time ago and copied&pasted the standard sentence that states that l had qualified for this challenge, and saved it on the cache page.
Eventually at the beginning of December l found the cache and signed the log, logging that l had found the cache and copying&pasting the standard sentence in my log as l usually do.

BUT the CO has replied that l have to list my qualifying finds to qualify to log this cache as found, so my log has been deleted.
HOWEVER both the CO and l on numerous occasions have tried this checker again and it comes back with an error message.
I have sent a text message to GreyHams who devised this checker - but have not had a reply.

Help please!

GreyHams has been active recently, so there's a chance he'll fix this.

This is an issue we've encountered in the past. Usually a cache always has a 'placed_by' attribute. But recently because of the GDPR users are allowed to completely delete their account. This leaves some caches without an user which causes the checker to throw an error since there is no failsafe for this case since it wasn't necessary when the scripts was written.

I have just tried the checker above - and got the following message

Deepdiggingmole qualifies for this challenge

Same T = 1.5
D = 2.5, GC61TRJ on 2018-08-24 placed by 1260rjc
D = 1.5, GC4CTZQ on 2018-08-25 placed by AvieB
D = 2.0, GC7DZVE on 2018-08-26 placed by Jonarse
D = 3.0, GC4C7YZ on 2018-08-27 placed by mankybadger and JoseUK, adopted by Tia67uk
D = 5.0, GC4DVB4 on 2018-08-28 placed by jazzyjessups
D = 1.0, GC7W2FH on 2018-08-29 placed by MaSawks
D = 3.5, GC7RAPW on 2018-08-30 placed by cantersfox
D = 4.0, GC7J3ZR on 2018-08-31 placed by barrowman1
D = 4.5, GC2578N on 2018-09-01 placed by funit10

So either I am lucky - or there is an issue with one of the caches as PattuX has said that throws the whole response out

Yes, this issue only happens when you actually found a cache which has an owner who deleted his account - which Redroaming has. Tho I haven't checked which cache in particular that is.

The challenge is also grandfathered, which means it was published under the old rules, so the owner can require you to list your finds in the log. But I agree, just letting the owner run the checker himself if he wants to check whether someone who logged the cache really does qualify would be easier.

Though - in addition - I am surprised at the requirement to list these in your log though the script output does this anyway but as there is a checker it is very easy for the CO to check and if there is a query with the output the CO can deal from there - putting a written list in the log is far harder for the CO to check manually - so I am surprised by this.

An oversight by GC.com when it comes to issues like this - I do not see any problem around COs having their accounts still available for stats purposes - does deleting their account also delete any caches linked to them too ???
Re: GC5M1P4

Afaik they delete everything that is connected to the account. Profile, logs, favorites, images uploaded etc. This is for legal reasons and I believe they wouldn't even be allowed to keep anonymized data for statistical purposes. The caches they owned are allowed to stay up but they are automatically locked.

Locking is understandable - but why delete the CO details - its just a name/ID and if required for info from that cache (as per in this challenge) then seems odd to have that info deleted too - it isnt as if trawling the cache details would take anyone to the account information for the CO
Again I think GC has taken the GDPR issue way beyond what is necessary

This issue should be resolved with one of the latest updates at PGC
