Re: Request for GC7W8QJ – Closing of Winterland, Find a Cache in Every US county the Dead played in 1978

Hi –
I would like to set up a challenge checker for a cache I want to establish. I have not qualified for this yet but would like to have the checker to help me confirm I have qualified. Responses to a previous post I made here indicated that this could be possible.Once I qualify I will publish the cache.

The GC code is in place and the site describes the requirements for logging it. There are two requirements so hopefully this is doable from a technical perspective:

1) You must log a cache located in each of the counties where the Grateful Dead performed during the U.S. stops of their 1978 tours.
2) You must also log one cache for each performance in the respective county. For example, they played eight (8) shows in 1978 at the Uptown Theater in Chicago, IL. You must therefore log 8 caches located in Cook County IL. On the other hand, they only played one show in Omaha, NE in 1978 so you only need to log one cache located in Douglas County, NE.

The page includes a table listing how many caches are required for each county. I could provide this separately as well.

Thanks,
David (aka Goodgulf)

Unfortunately we cannot see the cache page until it.is.published. what is the asterisk about?
Footnote that its an"independent city" in VA which is equivalent to a county.

I am confused about needing the cache published for you to see it. The Read Me post states:

"Create the challenge cache page to get a GC-Code, you do not have to put it into the review queue yet."

and later says to add the link to the checker before publishing.

Thanks,
GG
Here's a checker for you:

https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC7W8QJ/36776

Please test and let us know if it's suitable. Also note that I've changed Manhattan to New York County (NY). What my colleague meant is that you will have to provide the list of counties as we don't have access to your cache description until it is published. However, you've already provided that list in a subsequent post.
This works perfectly! Thanks!!

It will take me sometime to qualify and then publish. So when I am am ready to publish I just include the link on the cache page?

Thanks for putting this together and I hope this wasn't too much trouble.

Best
GG
Pleasure! Yes, you simply include the following in your cache description:

<a href="//project-gc.com/Challenges/GC7W8QJ/36776"><img src="//cdn2.project-gc.com/Images/Checker/36776" title="Project-GC Challenge checker" alt="PGC Checker"></a>
Thanks! Link works. We can consider this request resolved.

Take Care
