GC94WXD - 12 finds in every LGA in Victoria, Australia

There are 80 listed LGA (Local Government Areas) listed under Victoria, Australia. I would like to create a challenge whereby you are required to find at least 12 in every LGA (so total of 960 cache finds).

All cache types count.

Archived and disabled caches count

This is a new challenge.

For those not qualifing, a read out that at least includes the LGAs that they don't qualify for and their current number of finds in that LGA would be desirable.

Thankyou and Kind regards

Hi, for sure we can make that checker... and I did ( https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC94WXD/57830 ), but you are clearly a reasonable distance from qualifying.... you need additional finds in 25 counties....in some you only have a single find so far)

As you may not know, you must qualify for your own challenge, and demonstrate it, in order to get it published. Your reviewer will definitely check this.

So, I will ask what you want to do?

Thank you.

Yes, I realise I don’t qualify yet, but it is my aim to qualify for it soon. I have already run it past my reviewer and have been told the idea is publishable, once I have achieved the challenge myself.

Aiming for sometime in the next few months, I knocked off 7 LGAs off my list just last weekend!

Once again, thanks for the checker.

Also,

In the script output, is there a way to let people know how many they have found in each LGA, or how many more they need to find?

Not a big deal if not, would just make it easier.

Kind regards

No worries, just making sure you were aware :-)

I modified the configuration to make it log 'as much as possible', but the current script only outputs a long verbose list if you have all the counties...like yourself. Having looked at the source code, it doesn't look trivial to change (its a generic script that can work on country/region level anywhere in the world).

Oh cool, thanks. That does look better.

Although it would be good to list all the LGAs, for people who don’t have a find in each one.

If that’s possible.

Thanks so much for your help.

I understand your request, but the script is generic and is used among other things 'to find all counties in any region'.... so listing all counties could end up in an output far longer than the maximum amount. I doubt the script will be changed.

Checkers exist primarily to prove that a cacher completes a challenge.

There are tools that could be used by anyone to determine how close they are: https://project-gc.com/Tools/MapCounties

Here is a checker more in line what you are looking for
It Shows the counties you still have to find caches.
(It list all the LGAs, for people who don’t have a find in each one.)
