Re: GC7212X - 200 stars in max 25 caches in ACT

[Resolved] GC7212X - 200 stars in max 25 caches in ACT

Hi challenge checker writer(s),

Is it possible to do a challenge checker for the following:

A maximum of 25 caches from ACT, Australia where the sum of the D and T stars is at least 200.

For example, a person who has found the following D/T combinations of caches in the ACT (Australia) would qualify:
2 x 5.0/5.0, 1 x 5.0/4.5, 1 x 4.5/5.0, 3 x 4.5/4.5, 2 x 4.5/4.0, 1 x, 4.0/4.5, 5 x 4.0/4.0, 1 x 5.0/3.5, 1 x 3.5/5.0, 3 x 4.5/3.5, 3 x 3.5/4.5, and 1 x 4.0/3.5 would qualify because the sum of the difficulty and terrain star of these caches is over 200.

Regards and thank you,
TikvaNZ

Thanks vogelbird

This is looking great.
A couple of questions:
1. Is it possible to output the d and t in separate columns for each cache (with or without the total dt)?
2. When I tested it on my own profile, and checked it against my list of finds, I noticed at least one cache that I would have expected to be on the list. (GCHBP5). It has a dt of 4.5/4.5. Its inclusion would have pushed my total up to 206, (with one of the caches with a total dt of 7.5 dropping off the list). Still 25 caches. I'm curious how the logic works to produce the list? Is it possible to tweak the logic to ensure the highest dt are included?

Thanks

GCHBP5 is located in Project-GC in Australia / New South Wales / Yass Valley and therefor not included in your list.
The checker will always look for your highest score.
I can not change the output in d and t which is anchored in the script.

Thanks - interesting.

The cache page for GCHBP5 shows the location as Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
Can the checker use the Location (Country and State/Province) selected when creating the cache page, rather than the posted co-ordinates?

PGC uses the listed coordinates in relation to the OSM polygons. I have seen in many occasions that the CO posts a certain region/country on his cache page which is in fact on a nearby region or even country. When the CO makes his listing Groundspeak is not correcting the country or region in relation to the coordinates, PGC however is using the true borders and corrects the country/region and add the county as well. You can see this also by using one of the monkey add-ons (web browser extentions) see http://project-gc.com/Home/UserScript

You can also see the country/region/county details of all of your finds using this script: http://project-gc.com/Challenges//22247

In that case I'm happy the checker is all good to go.
