Re: Multiple checker requests: finds 2001 - 2025

Please could I have three new checkers:

GCB2MH8 International: Find a geocache placed in every year 2001 – 2025, with each year being from a different country. 25 years, 25 countries, which must contain finds from at least three continents.

GCB2MGV Europe: Find a geocache placed in every year 2001 – 2025, with each year being from a different country. 25 years, 25 countries, which must all be within the continent of Europe.

GCB2MGK UK: Find a geocache placed in every year 2001 – 2025, with each year being from a different UK county. 25 years, 25 UK counties.

If you need a definition of continents, I have used those countries recognised by Project GC, removing duplicate occurrences, so Türkiye is removed from the Europe list, and Cyprus is removed from the Asia list. I have listed these below.

However GCB2MH8 International: can not be done with this script and there is no alternative yet to make this happen unless bmuzzin with his multitest script knows a way

Thank you for these. They both work well, and produce a clear output (it looks like I don't qualify for the UK one, as although I have started logging my 2025 finds, I have not made it back to the UK yet).

I did experience a weird phenomenon with the Europe one, where it times out with a couple of names I ran through it. This seemed strange as it usually ran within 2 seconds, even for people with far more finds. Sometimes when this happens (with other checkers), if you run the script a second time with the name, it completes, but it just would not check at all for two specific cachers (and their user names were correct - I clicked on them from the drop down menu).

But hopefully just a glitch - other than that, I'm delighted, thank you.

I will await to hear from bmuzzin about the International one.

So, doing 25 countries one per year is no problem... the difficulty arises when further requiring it on 3 different continents... because that makes it a multi-variable search, and, I'm not sure any script supports that at the moment... which is I suppose why this is set to "needs new script". I can look at developing that, although I'm not sure how difficult it would be (eg. how long it would take).

So, if you'd like to wait, I can work on it and let you know (certainly this would be useful for other requests). But, if you'd rather go ahead immediately, dropping the 3 continent requirement it could be done right away.

Just a query - I was checking out this one out and when I tried the checker for the UK county one

For me it did return with the following cache for 2002
(as per output)
2002 - : [GC4C35](https://coord.info/GC4C35) Cuckoo Cache (could be anywhere) on 2014-05-04

It isn't specifying a county which means it could be a duplicate of any of the other counties listed.
As with many of the county based challenges do you need to specify that travelling caches are to be discounted

I think it's possible, and did a little work on it... and I think it's close... but it doesn't work yet. If you can wait a few more days, I'll know ya or nay whether it'll work out. It wouldn't be that hard to create a custom script to handle this, although I prefer to implement things generically in my "uber script", because that way they can be reused for other challenges/combinations.

I really appreciate your work on this. Of course I can wait :-D

It says you pass, and I don't (which is true). If you pass, it will just give you the first passing combination it finds, which is not necessarily the highest number of continents (but obviously 25 countries). I'm not sure if you have more than 4 continents, but that's all it lists for you (but, it satisfies the challenge).

If you don't pass, the "best result" it gives should be the highest sum of the number of things passed - eg. it would favor 10 countries and 6 continents (16) over 14 countries and 1 continent (15). But... not passing it's reasonably obvious what you need to do to improve your score... so I guess I need to go to more countries, as I do have 4 continents.

Anyhow, test it out and let me know.

I think I have recorded a false positive with Tbear186. It gives him the green tick with this message: You have found 26 out of a required 25 of country values. You have found 1 out of a required 3 of continent values.

I will continue to test, but it might be later today.

I checked with another cacher (Amberel) and unlike TBear though they had 26 out of 25 countries/years but only 2 of the 3 continents - it was a red cross with them - so has the false positive issue been amended

To Rubyshoos - did you want to include locationless caches in this challenge ,- I show as passing this one with 25 countries etc but it does include a locationless - I may possibly qualify without it but would have to trawl gsak to verify

@bmuzzin could you exclude locationless caches? Do you need a list of specific GC codes to do so? Ta :-)

Okay, I have fixed the false positive - actually it wasn't a false positive... they do actually pass. The problem was that it was FINDING the solution in which they passed and reporting success, but only saving the one with the highest number of entries for the results. I've also now excluded locationless caches.

I have just noted the checker output gives 2000 as the first year and for me misses out 2013 - although I can list 26 different countries from 2000-2025

If I read the above correctly the challenge was 2001 to 2025 so shouldn't include the year 2000
I may have mis-read but thought it should be pointed out
