I'm not quite sure I really appreciate it that challenge caches are coming back

Good thing: I am a registered checker script developer already. And I like to write challenge checkers as well because this can be very challenging, too. Let's hope challenge caches will become more reasonable because checker scripts are neccessary for them to be published (and lots of new API requests will follow, I reckon).
Mark this: I sure will not write scripts for challenges I do not qualify for :-)

From my personal opinion about challenge caches, I do miss them, and I am glad they are coming back. I do however also agree that there has been plenty of them that shouldn't exist, but writing guidelines against them would just make new ideas less flexible.

Personally, I am mostly against those that don't have a clear yes/no completed. Challenge checkers should solve that if used correctly.

About already being a challenge checker writer. To be clear, we aren't stopping new script writers from signing up, but we are having a bit of a pause on it while we are rebuilding some parts of the system, and updating some (pgc) guidelines. It is likely that we will have a smaller code test for future script writers though. The whole point is to protect our system, as it is today, anyone with permissions can start build a lot of faulty scripts. We also have a few other plans to keep the system cleaner in the future.

Smileys were just fixed! :)
