Geocaching HQ announced that "early next week," they plan to run the script to add the challenge cache attribute to challenge caches that have not already been edited manually. Thereafter, once Project-GC's database synchronizes to those changes, users will see their "Challenge Cache Attribute Checker" results more closely approximate their total number of challengeby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I had to wait a few days for enough Challenge Caches to be edited to include the new attribute! The checkers work great and my challenge caches have been published. Thanks!by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
With today's introduction of the new "Challenge Cache" attribute, cache owners can once again create challenge caches based on finding other challenge caches. (I am confirming this, wearing my Community Volunteer Reviewer hat.) I need checkers for GC8Z9AJ - find 50 caches with the Challenge Cache attribute set - and for GC8Z9AK - find 150 caches with the Challenge Cache attribuby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
The adjusted checker works just fine! This can be closed out. OnABoat, I would be honored to have you visit the growing challenge trail I'm building - it's now at 11 challenges on the same trail, and there's now a total of 40 challenge caches in Allegheny County, placed by various owners. We hope to make Pittsburgh a "destination" for challenge cache fans from all ovby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Thank you, I am honored to have a checker created by OnABoat. The checker performs as requested. I am sorry for the delay in responding, but I had more difficulty than I expected in finding local qualifiers. Could you please adjust the challenge's requirement from 100 caches down to 50? I have seven local qualifiers at that level.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
With the renewed interest in the musical "Hamilton," I would like a challenge checker for GC8W86W that requires 100 finds, of any type, in any United States County named "Hamilton County." The 100 finds can be all in one Hamilton County, or 20 finds in five Hamilton Counties - any combination is acceptable. There are "Hamilton" counties in the following US Statesby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Thank you so much for creating these checkers so quickly. Now I can get them published in time for the upcoming USA holiday weekend! I tested all of the checkers and they worked just fine.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
For a Challenge Trail that I'm putting out, I need the following checkers created. Thanks in advance for the expert assistance! GC8TJ6W: Find a cache in 100 counties within the USA, or county equivalents (parishes, independent cities). All cache types count except locationless. GC8TJ7A: Same as above, except 250 counties required. GC8TJ74: Same as above, except 400 counties reqby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
The explanation is that an "X" is Grid Art - statistics that look pretty when plotted on a chart. In contrast, having a find on each month of 2001 is a geocaching accomplishment.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Yes, this checker works great, and I love the output. Thank you so much! I waited until May 1st to confirm because I wanted to make sure that qualifiers, like me, now show as missing the month of May 2020. Works perfectly.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
For GC8PYCZ, I need a challenge checker that requires at least one find for caches hidden in each month from February 2001 until the current month. Archived caches are eligible. This is a Jasmer challenge with the following variants: 1. All caches must have posted coordinates in Pennsylvania, USA. 2. All cache types are eligible except for Locationless caches, Lab caches (of course), and Evby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Could this goal be accomplished by specifying the counties where the universities are located? "Find at least one cache in 10/25/50 of the following counties: Centre County, Pennsylvania Franklin County, Ohio etc etc etcby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
That wasn't my question. You cloned a checker from a pre-moratorium challenge cache. A shortcut on requirements was OK then. Post-moratorium, the checker must match the challenge cache requirements exactly.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Does the checker match the challenge conditions? There is an exception for older accounts. The geocacher only needs to find a cache hidden in the same month as their join date.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
The cache owner archived GC8JG2K. As a reviewer, I wouldn't have published it, even after removing the condition about 17 different cache owners. The "X" pattern is a classic example of "Grid Art." This is not a geocaching achievement.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
This subject was last considered by Geocaching HQ in summer 2017. At that time, challenge checker writers were advised not to create any new contiguous county checkers. There has been no change/ no discussion since then.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Sorry, but new "contiguous county" challenge caches are still not being published, due to the definitional issues discussed above in this thread. (I am a Community Volunteer Reviewer, and I'd know if the ruling had changed.) Meanwhile, I'm still having a blast connecting contiguous counties on my own. I'm up to 517 connected counties across 25 states, and I'm leby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
So you want both conditions to be fulfilled, then? Remember, there are 20 different cache types (and that Lab Caches can't be used for challenge caches). Not everyone's statistics will look like what you posted. In any event, I will go back to reviewing new caches here in the USA, and leave you in the capable hands of the checker writers.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Your two paragraphs are two very different challenges. Which one do you mean? Example: In Brazil my three cache types could be Virtual Cache, Earthcache and Project APE cache. That is an "eighth country with at least three geocache types" (your first paragraph). But asking me to find a Project APE cache in three different countries is not possible (your second paragraph).by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
GC4N3CN is an archived traditional cache in Arkansas. Did you mean a different GC Code? Note: if this is not a grandfathered challenge (pre moratorium), the challenge would not be permitted for a new cache because it's time limited and requires streaks of greater than one cache per day.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
The cache page says that the eligible geocacher must find 100 caches total, AND at least one each for five cache types out of the ten total eligible cache types. The checker appears to look for only two eligible cache types.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Reviewer here. GC5QPWP is a pre-moratorium challenge, meaning it was published under old guidelines for challenge caches and is grandfathered. Since the new guidelines were published after the challenge cache moratorium, time-limited challenge caches are no longer permitted.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)

Reviewer here. "find at least 100 caches owned by any one cache owner" is not an allowable challenge cache criterion.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Thanks for posting! Indeed, that trackables-based challenge cache should not have been published. As a reviewer, I regret any confusion.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
"Found in a year," "Found in any month," "Found in any 365 day period" and "Found in any 30 day period" are all examples of "Time Limited Caching." A streak isn't.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Trackables have not been allowed as challenge criteria since at least 2016 when the post-moratorium challenge cache standards were published. I do not see any cache hides under your account with the word "challenge" in the title, so I could not research your existing challenge cache which you say is based on trackable logs.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)

You may wish to consider excluding locationless caches from this Challenge. Three of my altitude bands list locationless caches as the qualifying find. I've never been to the posted coordinates for any of those three caches.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
The restriction is documented in the public Help Center guidance on Challenge Caches. It's item 12 in the chart, "All or percentage of Caches."by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
