Hi Double_Helix, Hügh has notified me that the script is faulty when no owner name can be retrieved. I modified the script and tested it with your user name. Result: you qualify :-) Cheers, Hampfby hampf - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
changed string.upper() to PGC.UTF8ToUpper() because of unicode characters in cache or owner name.by hampf - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hei ganja1447, "Seems to work now." (phrase I really don't like when getting test user responses) Better: "Works as expected again." Cheers, Hampfby hampf - Script development
Is it just me or does creating new challenge checkers not work any more? I clicked on "Create new script", filled in the form and clicked on "Create". After that I get redirected to the page http://project-gc.com/Tools/Challenges?edit&scriptId=0 and no script is created. The "My scripts and tags" list is unchanged and the new script does not show. Hi piechurek7. And what should the following turn out be? Two identical unpublished caches? I don't think so. Do you need any assistence for the generic checker? Cache: GC6K1M2 - Tagged by: piechurek7 Config: { "challenge": [ "With name 'Long Hike (+10km)' find 10 caches where attributes_set has 'Hike longer than 10km'.", "With name 'by hampf - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I have created a tag and verified it "using" the challenge owner. The tag is enabled already. Here is the checker: <a href="http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC6K4XR/21450">Project-GC Challenge checker</a> Here is the output: (https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=piechurek7) has used (http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC6K4XR/21450 "Project-GC Challengeby hampf - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
So then I would recommend contacting the reviewer whether the cache may be published (after having made the neccessary changes according to above) and then ask for the script. You could state that it is technically possible to write a checker but no one has done that and won't - until the reviewer says it is according to the guidelines. I have contacted Seeker Supreme already, let's see what can be done. If SeekerSupreme doesn't want to edit the script I'll make a copy and work on that.by hampf - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I don't think it is possible taking owned caches into account, sorry about that. And, as I said, it is not forbidden to log own caches as a found, so just go ahead and do so. This will only be of interest for Calgary residents so they will understand the need of looging their own caches. Should be no problem for them to fulfil the logging criteria if it is no problem for you, shouldn'by hampf - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
It would be easier in the publishing process if you just remove that passage B) I didn't make the rules, then. Maybe you should just ask your local reviewer beforehand. Edit: Sorry, Target, I thought it was JanlarC writing. And as a matter of fact you could just log your own cache if you like. This is not forbidden and if that brings you to fulfil the requirement nobody would object,by hampf - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Both - must come from information broadly available on Geocaching.com such as on the statistics page, cache placement dates, types, attributes, souvenirs, etc. - must be verifiable through information on Geocaching.com. do NOT mention "project-gc.com", I'm afraidby hampf - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
"[...]or own[...]" will not work due to guidelines (10. Source of Criteria: "Requiring cachers to own a cache." ). You'll have to remove that part from the list of criteria. I do not want to claim the credits for the script, SeekerSupreme has written a nearly perfect one (" Generic location proximity checker", although NOT regarding favourite points). Good thing: I am a registered checker script developer already. And I like to write challenge checkers as well because this can be very challenging, too. Let's hope challenge caches will become more reasonable because checker scripts are neccessary for them to be published (and lots of new API requests will follow, I reckon). Mark this: I sure will not write scripts for challenges I do notby hampf - Miscellaneous
