100 physical caches hidden by cachers that started caching on or before 12/31/2009 I wrote a script for and published a challenge to find 100 caches found by First Decade Hiders. To qualify, you have to find 100 caches published by cache owners that started caching before 12/31/2009. The script is generic so you can use any date range for when the hiders joined the game. Its a fun challby travelingGeek - Script development
Worth a try. I connected to your link and created a personal account. I use Slack a bit at work, but its not a primary communication method.by travelingGeek - Script development
I have challenge that just requires one. I really like reading the logs of peoples first caches. https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC6JMA6/20788by travelingGeek - Miscellaneous
I would use it and go back to old scripts and update them as well.by travelingGeek - Method requests
Before I suggest a new method, let me explain what I wish to do… so you can consider other methods as well. I would like to know the number of Reward Virtuals (Virtual caches published between 8/24/2017 and 8/24/2018) that have been published in a given country and region. There will never be more that 4000 of these and as of January 8th, there are only 1081 published. Using Map Compare on theby travelingGeek - Method requests
Good design I think. Will the queuing mechanism allow for multiple VMs to service the request? Related question, how many PGC points do you get for sponsoring a VM ?by travelingGeek - Checker news
Yes, using 1/1 would be better than 0/0 and more consistent.by travelingGeek - Checker news
Lots going on in this request. It would require a new script.by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
OK, I've deleted my checker since you will be using Vogelbirds. Nice Challenge.by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Yes, it is very possible.... and here it is: http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC6M05X/21538 Let me know if this satisfies your request. Thanks, -TGby travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Unfortunately, the guidelines prohibit the need to contact the Cache Owner, so I don't think you can leave it open ended like that. Maybe limit it to the counties you have solid data for?by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Well, the state of Washington is easy. :) Defining the cemeteries is not so easy. Since we can't look for the word "Cemetery" in cache name any more. IF (and it's a really big IF) you could identify the center point coordinate of ALL cemeteries (is there a master list?) and define the radius (say .2 miles). For bigger cemeteries, you could use multiple center points toby travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Very helpful functions! Thanks Target!by travelingGeek - Script development
here's is the checker without the "no medium hike". http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC6K4XR/21230 maybe you want to up the number required for the first one or two requirements if you remove the no medium? Let me know and I can adjust it.by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
the existing scripts that I know of have difficulty with these requirements. There is one that check for all three attributes, but will not check for uniqueness. The other one can be unique but doesn't handle the negative attributes (no medium hike). Maybe Target or Vogelbird know better than I do?by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I don't think you can include "And as 9th category own caches." QuoteNew guidlines: 10. Source of Criteria Not Acceptable: Requiring cachers to own a cache. You could substitute the any type with 10 FPs, but that would make it harder to write the checker. Not impossible.by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
That is a very difficult challenge, especially for more experienced cachers. Is this the math you intend: Cacher FF has found 3,440 caches. The total favorite points on those caches is 276,179. This cache does not qualify because 276,179/3,440 = 80.28459 which is not enough to qualify for "100". Is this already published? If not, I think it would be difficult to publish bby travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
I kept finding myself dumping different json files to the debug windows to compare what worked and what didn't work... so I wrote a simple script to keep in my toolbox. I hope this helps others as well. http://project-gc.com/Challenges//21215 Simple config: { "json_file": "Harris_County_TX_Precincts" }by travelingGeek - Script development
I assumed you wanted just physical caches and not events. http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC6JMEC/21208 Please let me know how you like this.by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Here you go: http://project-gc.com/Challenges//21207 Let me know if the output is sufficient.by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Is it safe to assume these do not need to be unique caches? for example, the caches used for requirement 1 can also be used for requirements 3 and 4 and 6?by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
tevjen, the Multi Checker that Target wrote can do all of these requirements Except # 6. Would you consider not requiring a streak?by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
This would require a new script to be written. Sounds very challenging!by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
This is great discussion. Can this topic be moved to "community support as a feature request" so we don't lose the discussion. RetiredGuy, I love the checker page! Well done.by travelingGeek - Miscellaneous
Sorry about that. It has been enabled.by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
OK, the script is written and I've tagged your cache. Give it a try and let me know what you think. http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC6JTW4/21069 If the reviewer objects to the excluding Germany it's an easy change to the config section.by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I will write a challenge specific checker for this to get published. Will generalize it over the weekend.by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I like the concept of the challenge and have been thinking about doing one similar, so I would be happy to write the script... but I wont be able to get to it until the weekend. If someone else has time to knock it out before then, go for it.by travelingGeek - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Go to the link Vogel provided: http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC6JGYX/20782 First you should verify the tagged script works for your profile or else they wont publish it. On the page you will see a section where you can enter your profile (caching) name and press the blue "Run Checker" button. This will check if your profile is qualified for the challenge.
