In order to fulfill a challenge we have to find a cache hidden by cachers whose name begins with A through to Z. The only one we are missing is 'X'.

 Is there an easy way of finding out which caches in any area are hdden by cachers whose name begins with a certain letter?

Have searched previous questions but don't seem to find an answer.

Many thanks

On the Project-GC landing page, click on the "Advanced search" tab.

Enter "X" in the "Cache owner" field and select "Starts with" radio button.

Enter some location information to restrict the search, or it will probably not give you any results.

If you're a paying member of Project-GC, you can set up a Custom filter, which you can then apply to any search page, such as Map Compare.

Many thanks for suggesting that! It does indeed give exactly what we wanted. And it in fact showed that we DO have a cache find by a CO whose name begins with X. (GC21N6G by XeniaScout)
Which makes us curious why the challenge checker for this challenge cache didn't pick it up: GC5H7KG
It's good to know we qualify though!
Many thanks again!
It looks like the checker has extra restrictions that are not listed on the challenge page:
 "after": "2010-04-17",
    "types": [
        "Traditional Cache",
        "Unknown Cache",
        "Multi-cache",
        "Letterbox Hybrid",
        "Virtual Cache",
        "Wherigo Cache",
        "Webcam Cache"
