Top Elevation Caches UK - Why so wrong i.e. Not Ben Nevis at the top as expected but a drive by in Shetland

Whilst checking top elevation to day I was shocked to find a string of drive by caches in Shetland as the top elevations all the way up to 14400feet.

That explains where the data comes from, but not why the elevations reported for these caches are so wildly inaccurate. I think that's more the point of the question.

The link Jakuje provides partially answers the question. Not sure why the elevation data for these caches is so inaccurate, but bottom line, project-gc draws the data from elsewhere and doesn't control it's accuracy.

That of course begs the question, why use those sources if they can be so inaccurate at times? I can guess at a few reasons but will leave that to someone more in the know to answer.
