I was just wondering about the Top lowest altitude stat. The lowest ones in the the US are more than -17,000 Ft? How can that be, I know there are no elevations in the US at that level.

The first absolutely real low elevation (on the surface of the earth) is halfway down page 8 and is the Earthcache 'The Dead Sea' at -415m.

All the real top lowest elevations are in Israel, Palestine or Jordan and on the shores of the Dead Sea.

The marker of the caches are located in the atlantic or pacific ocean. So the sealevel is counted at this place in the statistics.

I think the correct answer was that the seafloor was considered in that case. That does not make sense to me unless the cache is a diving/scuba cache with the corresponding attribute. If not this should flag as 0 m. (The lowest elevation in the USA and in fact, entire North America is -86 m located in Death Valley, CA).
