They do count at this moment, at least for paying members.

They are different, because they do not have permament GC code, they do not have physical size, difficulty nor terrain so they do not make sense in the statics visualising these attributes. On the other hand, they have a name, they are specific type and they were found by a cacher on specific day, so it make sense to include them in statistics related to dates.

The current version of FAQ is misleading and needs to be updated (I sent a support ticket and hopefully it will get fixed.
