Targets and ambitions for 2019

Question

Time for the annual question - what are your geocaching hopes, plans, ambitions and/or targets for 2019?

To get the ball rolling, I'm hoping to clear my DT grid (though I think I said that last year), and get at least three new gemstones on BadgeGen. I'm planning to get at least two new countries (Czechia and Italy), and continue my series of SideTracked events in the UK.

I'm also hoping to do a "multiple counties" 24 hour bash with friends, and would like to try to get 100 caches in a day.

I would like to reach my 4000 caches in 2019, until then I only need about 890 caches.
My 81 matrix should finally be finished, missing only 1 difficulty.
An event is planned, on the subject of Cito to go, how to make such a thing.
I believe these are enough wishes, now I have to dare to fulfill.

For me my general 2019 goals are:

1. Finish my D/T loop (4 caches), bonus points if I can finish my second loop (another 29 caches)
2. Finish my found date calendar (excluding Feb 29)
3. Complete my find streak up to 366 days (currently just over 230)
4. Publish a series of kids letterboxes
5. Publish at least 1 AR cache (already done)
6. Place my first T5 physical cache (we have hosted a T5 event, but haven't placed a physical cache yet)
7. Maintain my FTF streak, which is currently at 12 months.
8. Pick, and complete, an appropriately impressive cache to do as our 1000th find (currently on 847)

Optional bonus goal: Place a ~100 cache GeoArt (50/50 challenge caches and puzzles) that I started playing around with late last year.

Stat nerd goals:

1. Up my belt score from 200 to 300
2. Earn at least 3 new gemstones (currently have 10)
3. Progress at least 5 of my current Bronze badges
4. 200 finds in a day

Hi here are my Goals for 2019:

- trip to Ireland and find Europe's first (June 2019) DONE

- visit 500 Geocaches in one day (Roadtrip April 2019) DONE

- visit Cache number 200 with T5 (current 138) DONE

- visit our 100th event (current 91) DONE

- perhaps visit our 10th Mega-Event (Berlin) DONE (NOT BERLIN, BUT WE VISIT THE EVENT AT THE LAKE 2019)

- and the biggest goal: hiking a lot in our beautifil nature

- Work on completing counties (Landkreise) for Hessen and Rheinland Pfalz - just a few more for each

- Get more finds and more cache types in surrounding countries we already have cached, to make our European map a little more varied (example: 100 caches in France)

I had to change my ambitions for 2019. I wanted to find 100 caches per month. I failed in February. So I still have the target 1200 caches in 2019 and need to strenghten my finds in the next months.

At the moment I don't have that many explicit goals. I have a few calendars that I'm working on completing but most of them require leap day so it's not so much a 2019 goal as a "by leap day 2020" goal (which is still less than a year away). This is things like filling the calendar with smalls, D1.5, T1.5, at least three types on all dates, a couple of attributes, and logs on at least three different years on each date.

I'm also working on the multi-calendar but there are too few unlogged multis within a reasonable distance for me to be able to set up a time goal for this.

I'm also (in theory) working on completing my third, fourth and fifth loop of the D/T matrix in order to qualify for a local challenge. In practice, very little is happening here...

I will try to visit my first GIGA. Sie I also get this new cachetype icon. This again is needed for a challenge.

As there are two GIGA in Germany in May 2019 I will visit one ore even both

Found a new target

We wanted to have 1200 (or more cahces) this year. Thought we will miss this goal as we only did about 80 in February and March.

But lucky we went in April and May a little more so we are at 101 caches per month since January. So we are back on track.

Next goal is to have 4 Caches found per day. As 29.2.2021 is near, we want to reach this goal until this day.

Since we are now halfway through the year, it's a good time to reflect on my goals.

1.  Finishing up Jasmer grid (2 more Y2K to go)

2.  Continue with D/Ts (have added 10+ this year)

3.  Add 3-5 more states

4.  Visit Original Cache and HQ

5.  Find over 500 caches for the year (YTD is 265, so I'm on track so far.)

A new target for us is to fill up our founds to 6 per day up now.

So this is for some days a 0 and for some a challenging 4.

2019 nealy ends so I checked my tasks for 2019

6666 by end of 2019: missed this by about 600. But still happy I did more than 1000 this year

more countries than now: fulfilled

100 caches per month: missed this by about 9 caches per month.

But will try to be better next year

I am happy, that I reached my goal to log my 2000nd cache. In addiditon I had made my first webcam cache in 2019 - and my second.

As I nearly missed my 100 Caches per month goal, we went on some cachetours over christmas getting some meters on my fitness tracker and some caches. I'm only 30 Caches from 1200 this year away. As still 4 more days I will fulfill this goal "at last minute"

I have only one goal - to be healthy and other goals comes with this main one. Maybe I finally reach 14k :)
