Just curious about the Magic Algorithms of "What's Hot?"

Ok to disclose to public?

Ok, my former answer was obviously wrong, so I will try again.

I don't remember the exact details of how What's hot works. But I took a fast glance.

Basically it's based on the number of favorite points / number of logs a cache has gotten the last 30 days. A minimum amount of logs during that period is required as well. The cutoff seems to be 10 logs.

We do not want to post the source code of it publically.

Yes, but I am not sure you will get the answer you want. The QA-forum is open source, and the souce code and be found here: http://question2answer.org/

We have slightly modified the weigh factors:

I suspect the question is referring to the "What's Hot?" map of geocaches under tools and not the "HOT!" of the qe system
Ar... yes, I am asking the function "What's hot", what is the "Magic Algorithms" ?
