This checker icon is displayed at old coordinates on the checker map and is incorrect.

When I requested this checker I gave the wrong coordinates (parking coordinates instead of the cache). I corrected the coordinates on the cache page before it was published, but the checker icon still shows at the parking coordinates on the ProjectGC checker map instead of the published cache coordinates.

The checker itself works fine and does not need any change. Only the icon on the checker map needs to move to the same location as the cache.

Checker: https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8ZR43/54749

Thanks

Note - I originally posted this request in the checker forum and was requested to post it here.

Edited to add screenshots of the display.

This is the incorrect position shown by the ProjectGC challenge map - the cache is NOT  next to the A361 road.  This is different to the geocaching.com map, where the cache is in the gap four caches to the West (which is correct).

The cache is right between the series 10 countries challenge and the 365 streak challenge on the map,N 51° 24.804 W 001° 54.666 the same spot as it has it's posted and final coordinates.

If you see it in any other place you most likely have used the "solved coordinates" feature to move the coordinates for your self, they will then show up at this place for you only. You change this with the litte pencil icon next to the posted coordinates on any cache.

Thanks for your suggestion about solved coordinates.

I think this refers to the  geocaching, com map which displays correctly (and I don’t have solved coordinates loaded).

However, if you are referring to the ProjectGC challenge map (which displays incorrectly) then I haven’t found a way to modify these coordinates and haven't made such a change intentionally.
I’ve now added screenshots to show the issue
Yes solved coordinates is a geocaching.com-thing but it also moves the coordinates on project-gc. You have written something in your personal cache note of the mentioned cache, does this happens to be coordinates? Project-GC uses those too as solved coordinates so you need to remove them or mark them with a ^ and wait for a new parsing of your personal cache notes for this to be cleared.

The cache you are referring to is at the correct place on the challenge map for me so I don't think this is a bug at Project-GC tbh.
That must be it. I didn’t know that personal notes are exported never mind that coordinates recorded in notes are used as “solved” coordinates, despite the fact that I haven’t got solved coordinates in the coordinates field.

I did previously record the old coordinates there in the notes field in case there was a query. I’ve now deleted those to see if it will update on the next cycle.

Thanks for solving this one
Glad we figured it out! :) If you have solved coordinates they take priority over coordinates in the cache note, but if you only have coordinates in the notes then Project-GC will assume that's your solved coordinates.

If you check the page https://project-gc.com/Profile/SolvedMysteries it has "Your cache notes was last parsed at:" at the bottom of the text, when you have a new date there, this should be corrected.

A checker doesn't have any coordinates in itself. I suspect that you have corrected coordinates for the cache, and have entered the original posted coordinates for that.

I did correct the coordinates for GC8ZR43 in geocaching.com and these are not the same as the coordinates which I used when I originally submitted the checker request.  I also corrected the “final coordinates” waypoint on the cache page.

The ProjectGC checker map shows GC8ZR43 in a different location to the geocaching.com map - if the checker doesn’t hold coordinates then I don’t understand why?
The checker map, like any other map on Project-GC, shows a cache on the coordinates you have for it, i.e. the posted coordinates or the corrected coordinates if you have such.

Coordinates can be corrected in two ways: by clicking the coordinates on the cache page and entering new coordinates there (which is equivalent to changing the coordinates using an app) or by putting coordinates in the personal cache notes field. I *think* the first has priority if you have both. The "final coordinates" waypoint is not used by Project-GC since we can't see it if it's hidden.

It could be that your corrected coordinate change has not been detected by Project-GC, for some reason. You can request a refresh of your corrected coordinates via Support -> Self-support. Note that there are two different buttons to click for the two different types of corrected coordinates.
Thanks for your follow up. This was also answered by Pleu yesterday.

I was surprised to find out that coordinates in the personal notes field are exported from geocaching.com and even more surprised that if the notes field contains coordinates then these coordinates are used as “corrected”.

In my case, my notes field contained the old incorrect coordinates (in case I had a later query) which unfortunately resulted in ProjectGC plotting my cache in the wrong (old) location.  This resulted in my query here thinking that the wrong coordinates had been recorded when I first submitted my checker request.

I’ve now deleted the wrong coordinates and a data refresh has resulted in the cache being plotted in the right location.

Thanks for an explanation of this which turned out to be an unexpected feature rather than a bug!
For completeness: You can write "^n12 34.567 e012 34.567" (i.e. with a leading caret) to tell Project-GC that a coordinate in the personal cache note field is *not* to be used as the corrected coordinates.
