I recentl received a notification email that a FP had been removed from one of my caches 'Jailor' (GC5JXTC). When I investigated further the FP had been removed by me (Kiwimykl). This cache was published on 07 Jan 2015 (before I actually signed up to geocaching), by Mr Siftee. I found the cache on 26 Jun 2015 and awarded it a FP. On 17 Jul 2016 I adopted the cache from Mr Siftee along with several others of his as he was shifting away from the area. On 20 May 2021 I received notification from P-GC that I had removed my FP which I hadn't. So I am guessing P-GC has decided to take the FP off me because I theoretically awarded it to myself. Not a good way to treat you paying members.

Project-GC does not remove your favorite points on adopted caches, this is done by Geocaching HQ and any feedback regarding this is best posted in their forums at https://forums.geocaching.com/GC/

Project-GC only sends you an email because you lost a FP, doesn't matter who removed it.

Is that a new function? I still have caches that I have adopted after having logged them that have FPs that I have awarded to them.
To be honest I have no idea how it actually works, I too have a FP from myself on an adopted cache. I know I've seen previous reports about this at least as far back as 2018 and nothing odd have been found when Project-GC looked into the earlier cases. It might actually be a bug on Geocaching.com but either way their forums would be the correct place for the issue. :)
