I seem to be in the minority on this opinion but I can't stand the heat map on every map in the maps tab. The color isn't great but I can deal with that, mostly I just want to see a consistent color for the areas I've been to. I already know that I've found less caches in places I've only traveled through, I don't need a shading system to tell me that. Checking the maps after a trip used to be my favorite part of Project-GC but now I barely like it.

I looked around to see if I could turn it off but I don't think there's a way. It could be as simple as a checkbox in the settings, although I'm not a programmer so I don't know for sure how hard it would be to actually write out such a thing. I don't have a paid membership here as of now but I'd 100% pay up if it meant my maps were solid color again.

Project-GC answered a similar request on facebook with that they are considering/discussing to implement a version without the five levels but that it haven't been decided yet and that they will have to prioritize fixing stuff on the new maps first.

Ah ok. I don't have Facebook so I didn't know anyone else had asked. I guess I'll just have to ride it out for a while.
No worries, it's not that easy to keep track of things happening on Facebook even if you're active there. :) It's good that you asked because here people can upvote your suggestion if they agree and Project-GC can see that more people want the same thing.

Also, if you didn't know, you don't need to have an account to read the things Project-GC posts on Facebook, so if you want to you can visit https://www.facebook.com/ProjectGC and see short news etc. Just click the "not now" on the popup that tries to make you get an account.
