How to search multiple locations in advanced search (NOT in Tools searches)

I asked this question once before and got a response for the Tools section.

I am asking for the proper syntax to find, for instance, all the caches in Washington AND Oregon AND Idaho that begin with the letter “X” in the advanced search portion of the dashboard.

I'm not sure it's possible to search for multiple regions in the advanced search. I would either do three separate searches and add them all to the same Virtual GPS or I would do one search for the country, add that to a Virtual GPS and use "sort by region" to filter out the states I didn't want. :)
