Dear audience,

I authenticated my GC profile to GC-Project yesterday, but found I cannot use most of the menu options. E.g. all options in menu "Tools" are greyed out. My username is successfully displayed in the upper right corner. So I guess the authentication process was successful.

What am I doing wrong?

Weird. When I search on geocaching.com I can find your account but not on Project-GC. Have you just recently changed the name of your account? Or have you changed the setting on geocaching.com so that third-party applications can't access your information?

I poked around a bit. My theory would be that you used to be opted out of sharing with third-party applications, but recently opted in. Is this correct? I'm basing this on that I can see you account on geocaching.com and in GCDroid (a third party app), but your account on Project-GC looks like it's opted out and have been for a long time.

It sounds odd that you would be able to authenticate when the site thinks you're opted out, I assumed you couldn't do that. If I were you I would probably contact the support via the orange support button in top right area of most pages on the main site and ask if it's possible to do a "manual refresh" or something of your account.

Edit: I got too curious and asked on your behalf. :) It should be working now I think.

thanks for your reply. To answer your questions:

a) No, I did not change my account or user name on GC.

b) Yes, this description is correct. I used to tick the option "Do not share personal data with authorised developers." before.

Then, yesterday I authenticated in GC-Project an allowed GC to hand over user profile data to outside apps, such as GC-Project. Then, I received an error message, and I deleted the tick mark described above.

After this I could access to GC-Project, but nearly all menu options were greyed.

So I think user "Pleu" understood the problem correctly. The question is now, how to recover it.
