Authentication

Question

Recently I am being asked to authenticate every day - more on some days. I used to be asked every so often which I understand but this regulalrly (almost every time I go onto the site)
I researched if this issue had been raised before and the only previous query referred to 'cookies' I don't clear cookies that often so this won't be the reason for this regular requirement
Is there an issue with this or - something I can do to rectify it

You are not alone. The same thing is happening to me. Every time I go to the site, I have to authenticate.  It started happening this weekend.

Weirdly (or not) - it has not happened today - if a glitch it may have possibly been resolved - I will check over the next few days

It's *probably* something with the Geocaching API. We are receiving an unusual amount of errors from it, and it might cause weird side effects if it happens in the wrong places.

We have also read that at least one geocaching app have had similar issues the last week.

Are you by any chance running in an incognito window? If so, that won't save cookies, causing you to need to reauthenticate frequently.

Nothing has changed from a couple of weeks ago when i would go straight onto the site without the authentification windows popping up ?

Agreed, not using incognito.  I'm not doing anything different. I'm on Android and my last update was November 4th, so it's unlikely to be that- with this just starting this weekend.  I wonder if the site had a security or code update this weekend.
