Hi all, I'm a paid member but my stats are stuck at 29 May (or before). The tool on the stats page says "Using data up to 2026-06-09". On a couple of previous days I've also tried clicking the "Regenerate my statistics now" button with no resulting update. I wondered if it's to do with the recent chages to Settings at geocaching.com or if it's a problem at this end? Thank you for your time, elfre :-)

When I try to view your profile stats it says you're opted out of third party sharing so I believe the setting you want is on this page: https://www.geocaching.com/account/settings/userprivacy

Oh, thank you. I've looked and I'm opted out of

"Regardless of my privacy settings below, allow all of my profile information to be shared with our Authorized Developer Project-GC for my own personal use and the use of others."

But the only data I've opted out of sharing as "Private" is "Profile location" and "Trackables", with all the other types of data opted to "Public". So while that might effect some channels for data gathering it probably shouldn't cut off Project GC? Or maybe it does?

ETA: I can share my location as I set my home to the top of a big hill (not where I live).
As far as I know this was changed recently and you need to have everything set to public or use the "allow PGC to override the settings below"-option.

When you've done that you probably want to do a manual refresh (can be done under self support which you find under the orange support-button that's in the right corner on most PGC-pages)
I see. Thank you for letting me know. Sad geocaching.com chose to break Project GC. I was just starting to get into using the site more.
Just for the record. Changing this setting hasn't worked (yet) after over 48hrs. My stats are still stuck on 29 May.
When I look at your profile stats it says "Using data up to 2026-06-14." so this seems to have been corrected now?
The "Using data" date has always been the same day or one day old, and it appears to have picked up all (or most) of the caches I logged recently, but the missing caches from the end of May (30-31 iirc) are still missing. They were the caches I found after the "settings" rule change at geocaching.com was implemented, but before I changed my data-sharing "settings". Maybe they'll reappear at some point, but it seems notable that they're still missing.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I can't be the only person effected, even if I'm the only one who has noticed, so it seemed important to record what's happening as it happens (for future reference).
I'm not sure what caches you say are missing and as I can't guess this for you there's nothing I can do to help you and nothing I can record.

When looking at your stats for June 1st it's clear that the stats include caches from May 31st: https://project-gc.com/ProfileStats/elfre?llh=2026-06-01#Milestones

Again, I don't see anything wrong here so I don't understand what issue you're seeing?

You might also want to read up on how the data is updated because, again, I can't see what error you're seeing. Everything seems to be working as intended and there's nothing to record. https://project-gc.com/Home/FAQ#552906412
I didn't know my profile stats weren't due to refresh for three months until the beginning of September, but now I do. Thank you.

I identified most of the missing caches by GC code (7 missing, out of 8 possibly missing) and tried refreshing them individually via the self support feature (orange "Support" button, then blue "Self-support" button, then blue "Refresh specific geocaches by writing their GC-codes below and pressing the refresh-button."). So that will be an interesting experiment too.
I don't understand what you're referring to here but I don't find the snark appropriate when I've spent a lot of my free time trying to help you. I give up on trying to help you now. Have fun with that bug if there's a bug, I do not care any more.
I don't know what you're reading as "snark" but that's all in your head. I literally thanked you, again (fourth time), in the comment you're replying to.

All I've done is note that there are caches missing from my stats, and followed up all suggested courses of action, and said thank you repeatedly.
Yeah, sure, referencing something I've never said and then attributing that to me is not snarky. Whatever.
I genuinely have no idea what you're upset about, but I am sad you're upset because I actually like people.

Anyway, for general information in case anybody else has a similar problem, either something in the background has updated or my last attempt to refresh my profile stats worked. This is what I did:

I identified most of the missing caches by GC code (7 missing, out of 8 possibly missing) and tried refreshing them individually via the self support feature (orange "Support" button, then blue "Self-support" button, then blue "Refresh specific geocaches by writing their GC-codes below and pressing the refresh-button.").

I only knew about the Self-support functions because Pleu told me about them in this thread, so thank you again.

More info on my Settings at geocaching.com.

"App Authorizations

And
"Authorized Developer Authorizations" "Do not share" is unticked to allow profile name associated stat data sharing.

Since your stats page says to be using data from yesterday, why do you think that it's stuck on older data?
by pinkunicorn (Moderator) (206k points)
Because I've had 2,074 finds since 31 May and Project GC is stuck on 2,066.
Note that "data from <date>" means that it's using the data that was processed by Project-GC at that time. It may or may not include all finds logged on that date since the page generation may have happened when some of your finds logged that date were processed while some were not.
That's true, but my geocaching.com finds were last updated there at least a week ago.
geocaching.com has instant access to their own database so this tells us nothing. Project-GC needs to periodically update its information about every cache on the planet, which takes time and adds delays.
Well, I guess I'll find out if it updates before my paid mambership runs out in November. :-)
