I have found some caches in Warrington (most recently on 19/9/2026 alongside some caches in Merseyside), and notice they appear to have counted towards my total for the county of Merseyside. This is incorrect - as shown by the Wikipedia page for Cheshire, the Unitary Authority of Warrington is part of Cheshire not Merseyside. I believe, though can't be sure, that Halton is also wrong.

Edit: See also the Open Street Map Relation for Cheshire, which also shows the same as below

For completeness, the following Unitary Authority areas are part of Cheshire:

  • Cheshire West & Cheshire
  • Cheshire East
  • Halton
  • Warrington

And the following District areas are part of Merseyside (Wikipedia link):

  • City of Liverpool
  • Sefton
  • Knowsley
  • St Helens
  • Wirral

I'll look into this but it's much easier to actually check these things if you supply a couple of caches that you believe are incorrect.

Here are some examples as requested:
Caches I've found in Warrington: GC84ECW, GC9V5VQ
Caches I've found in Halton: GC2K3HM, GC7C51T
I believe all of these are showing as Cheshire, and in fact have just gone and looked up Merseyside in the Map NESW/Highest/Lowest tool, and GC6ZJTW is listed as the easternmost in Merseyside even though it is in Cheshire
