Message banner once only please!

The message banner that is used to display intermittant news, such as the current one "Groundspeak has now enabled our access and authentication/login should be working again. More information will be added coming 24 hours." is once again displaying on every page redraw even after it has been closed.

The banner is a terrible news tool - it would be a great news tool if once closed, it stayed closed.

I'm sure this dissappears once you are a paying member and validate your email/account.
