When using Map Compare, if I use the filter "Cache name" to filter caches with for example "sänd" in it, I get matches on "sand" and vice versa. "såg" will get hits on "saga" and so on.

That's actually a feature. Since the collation isn't Swedish it's all natural.

It would be more or less impossible to build a list of which characters should be the same as others (a=A=á ...) for international behaviour and for all UTF-8 characters. We are using utf8_general_ci for this, which then thinks Å=A=a.

There is no standard collation (that we know of) that would match the needs for every country at the same time.
