If the "Live Filters" icon isn't showing green and background is Google satellite then the page is refreshed the busy wheel continually spins and the log shows stopped at ParseSavedFilters()

I'm not sure if the background map makes a difference at all. It seems to turn off the live filters in Microsoft Edge browser when reloading the browser. So that might be something to do with it.

The issue though is clearly that ParseSavedFilters is getting stuck when there aren't filters to parse.

Is it reproducable with another web browser than IE/Edge?
I cant reproduce it in MS Edge, Have cleard all filters and there is no problem in refreshing the screen after the filter is cleared.
It might be depensing on location. Copy the url and i will testa again
I tried in Chrome and FF (I don't have any virtual machine with Edge yet), I couldn't reproduce it either. I was thinking that it could be that the specific user has broken filters server side, the code is quite immature. But then it should be fixed by creating a filter and saving again.
I've been unable to reproduce it either. However It has dawned on me that it might have coincided with a change of username on geocaching.com. That could explain that it found the account but couldn't find the filters?

This is conjecture at this stage, what I'd noticed was that the green filter active icon wasn't active. Turning it back on fixed the issue. At the time it was still showing my old username in the top right panel, yet the username and changed on geocaching.com. Thus I suspect this might be the root problem.

In any case the filter routine was hanging indefinitely waiting for completion which suggests a missing timeout value for the routine which would help users on slow connections anyway. Very low priority fix I would suggest.

If you have changed your username the last 48 hours, Project-GC will be a bit unreliable.

It is supposed to work, but we have never really tested it. It would require a lot of testing to go through it and we just haven't prioritized it. In general we are using a user id (number) which is the same for Geocaching.com and Project-GC. But it does happen that we rely on the username instead. In these case we will get unexpected results.

Yup on reflection there isn't much point investigating this further.
