The Hidden Date tool will only look for caches for hidden calendar dates you have no finds for.

I think that the best way to do what you want would probably be to use the map compare tool with hidden calendar day filter (though that one is for paying members of Project-GC only AFAIK).

When I zoom inside a map on my phone it zooms just the map. If I zoom outside the map it zooms the entire page. This seems like just like what you want. Thus this appears to be a problem with your phone or browser, not with the site. I'm using an iphone with Safari.

It turns out that one can draw a line around the caches of interest, and export those to a Virtual GPS. It would still be nice to have a list, but the drawn polygon gives at least a two step solution without opening another search query.

Mystery cache symbols in GPS

Hello,

I recently discovered that when I create a GPX in Virtual GPS, transfer it to the GPS (Garmin H1), the symbols on mystery caches are changed from a standard question mark to a treasure chest in the GPS. All other symbols are the real standard symbols. I can't find them specifically in any list either, but they still work as a cache in some way in the map itself. Tried with and without choosing to correct the coordinates. Same result. Very strange.

However, if I download an individual mystery cache from GC.com, it becomes a real question mark symbol in the GPS.

This has not been a problem before and I have not updated the firmware in the GPS. Something seems to have happened in the GPX manufacturing here at PGC or what could it be? Anyone else having the same problem?

*Update*

I downloaded an older built GPX file to see how it worked and in it the symbols are now correctly displayed. This is strong evidence that something has gone wrong recently in the GPX file manufacturing process here.

Logs on my caches

Hi!

As the owner of more than 800 listings and roughly 500 active caches, I often use the search function to look up players and their logs on my caches. I still rely partly on email for this, but unfortunately my inbox is full, so I have to delete logs, and this feature is becoming less and less useful. For example, using the bookmarks for my own caches, I can find out which caches were found by whom, but I can no longer view the logs for them. Would it be possible to consider a feature where I could enter a cacher’s nickname somewhere and get all their logs on my caches?

In closing, I want to thank you for the great work you’re doing. When you see how perfectly project-gc.com works compared to the official Geocaching platform, it’s almost unbelievable.

This was an intentional change, as the previous behaviour didn't really align with how "Share"/link functionality typically works on most websites (e.g. the coord.info/GCcode link on geocache pages).

We can add back a button to directly open the statistics -- but out of curiosity, is there any specific reason(s) you liked this behaviour?

This feature does not exist.

While I understand that completing your challenge difficulty grid is an appealing goal, I would advise against it. For one, challenge difficulty ratings are recalculated regularly, and can lower if more people are qualifying/finding the cache and can rise if the opposite happens. Challenge caches also lose their difficulty score some time after they are archived.

This is working as intended as the settings under "Appearance and Preferences" are used for what you are seeing on every profile stats you're looking at. So if you're including lab caches you're including lab caches on all profiles and not just your own.

On my profile stats-page I get the warning "Your statistics are not visible to others!" If I expand the settings below and uncheck the checkbox "Completely hide my statistics from others" and click on "Save" nothing happens. When I refresh the page the warning is still shown and the checkbox checked again.

I checked a handful of the mentioned caches and none of them had an elevation below 0 so to me this looks like a recalculation of data (something that's done occasionally as the point of Project-GC is to have active and correct data) and not a bug.

Order of caches in a day for statistics is incorrect

On the statistics page it is clearly stated that "Adventure Lab caches are sorted last for each day due to technical limitations and differences between various logging methods of geocaches.". However that seems to be untrue. The statistics page claims that my 17000th cache find was a lab cache found on 29th of June. After looking at this statistic, I logged several "real" caches on the same day, which should now be placed before the lab caches and make my 17000th find a "real" cache. That did not happen after regenerating the statistics, though. The 17000th find remains the same lab-cache as shown before.

So based on those observations, I would assume that the info that lab caches are always sorted last for a day is incorrect. Can somone confirm this bug or explain the behaviour?

I might be misunderstanding something due to the language difference here, but when I check the mentioned profile stats I'm seeing:

Floh1967: 1809 finds in Braunschweig, 157%
GeoTschorny: 1735 finds in Braunschweig, 151%

So apart from the numbers looking correct we can determine that 1% will be around 11.5 caches in this area which means that a difference of 3 finds would likely just round to the same percentages anyway.

You can use filters to look for caches that were published before that date and archived afterwards.

Edit - looking at in more closely, it doesn't seem that you can directly filter by archived date. An alternative would be to put all caches published before that date into VGPS and sort by archived date, then delete all those archived before the date.

You're following instructions that was made by ai or somebody else with issues of hallucinations as there's no checkbox and that's not possible.

The easiest way to do this is to copy all the caches (make sure you get the GC-codes, it doesn't matter that you get allt he other stuff like names and dates etc). Then paste all that in the box you get when you click "Action" -> "Add geocaches" on a VGPS. Click "Add" and you're done.

I have the firefox browser extension added and in the menu I have "Add challenge checkers' option checked. I am no longer seeing the green check mark on the checker as I once did. Did something change or do I need to change another setting. Even after I run the checker manually and pass I still do not get the green check mark on the geocaching.com web page.

I discovered a shot time ago that I could find the number of visitors to my caches on Cache Owner Dashboard, and they fit reasonably with the numbers on Project-PC. As expected there were som misfit, simply because the Project-GC needs some time to update the number.

But I started to follow these numbers, and there seem to be a certain misfit that is slowly growing, and the misfit seems to be completely independent of if I have had 50 visits on a day, or if it was a day with hardly any visits.

At the moment Cache Owner Dashboard claims 52555 visits, whereas the very recent update on "Hides" on Project-PC gives me 52527, a difference of 28. I got close to 40 visits today, but the last one was 4-5 hours before the update.

I would not have been to worried about this alone, there may be some delay somewhere. But the difference seems to be slowly increasing, and it was also close to 20 a few days ago, when bad weather gave few visits on my caches.

So is this real difference, or something that will "heal itself" with a bit of patience?

You can use the toplists for Top Elevation and/or Top Elevation (lowest) for this.

If you add the filters "Exclude found/unfound/hides" and "Include or exclude disabled/archived/past events" you can get a list of just your finds sorted on elevation.

You can use the map D/T-tool and a custom filter for this, the easiest way is to use a name of somebody that haven't logged any caches in the area (for example a zero finds account or somebody that hasn't been to the area), the issue however is that there are over 1000 challenge caches in the area so you would have to make multiple searches and use a Vgps and some manual work to figure out the actual numbers.

2) This checker is possible but it's not allowed. According to the guidelines a streak can be a maximum of 365 days and it's not allowed to exclude caches based on any criteria. So you're not allowed to make it "UK only" and you're not allowed to exclude ALs.

Disabled the tag. I also noticed that the CO have used an incorrect link for their cache page (the checker image is for tag 102763 and not the linked 102897). If you're in contact with the CO I would suggest you ask them to fix this as it's risk of causing similar confusions as people will have the green tick mark on the cache page but still might not fulfill the challenge.

I checked two of the caches on your list. One had been found already, the other hadn't been found and it's showing up on the map. Since everything seems to be working correctly I don't see a reason to check the other caches as this just sounds like the data hadn't been fetched when you checked. The map can be several hours behind and sometimes even more when it comes to newly published caches.

I have a challenge cache where you have to find caches in certain map regions. The challenge checker uses the genericPolyChecker https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC58381/18168.

I wanted to verify a cacher that logged my cache and saw, that when I use the checker with his name it shows the challenge as not fulfilled. With some cross reference and checking different users I found, that the checker won't show a region as fullfilled, if there only was a premium cache found, as I am only Basic member. I am pretty sure, that worked before.

Since basic members can log premium caches, this seems off and especially as I am the owner of the cache and I wanted to verify a log.
