My stats are not showing correctly.

My most southerly is incorrect when another user checks my stats is shows correctly but on both my computer and phone I have it incorrect.

This should also give my lowest elevation as seen in a challenge check this morning

The cache that's not registering correctly is GC2PPNP

Project-gc via the macro "Geocaching.com + Project-GC" states that I have two logs registered on a cache.

The macro "Geocaching.com + Project-GC" tells that I have two logs on a cache thus the total number of caches differs from what GSAK reports. If I look at the cache I suspect is the cultprit I can only find one log.
However when I wrote a note to tell why I couldn't attend I managed to first post it as an attended log which I later changed to a "write note".

Is it possible fix this?

I have a suggestion to a new statistics:

An overview of active caches in a region, placed by year and number of you have found of those.

It is already possible to have an overview by caches in a region or city and you can filter by active caches and a period when they were placed.

For example: you have a choicebox with country and region, and then the result is a table by year:

The idea for this statistics is when a logged the oldest caches for a specific region. When i found all of them from 2000, i logged those from 2001,... so at the moment i have found all the caches in my region places between 2000-2010 and i want to log those from 2011 this year.

Hi,

I found some caches in Ireland and also some in Northern Ireland (Derry, to be precise). I was expecting to get credit for finding caches in the UK, but no country souvenir and no map entry. How come?
I'm aware that this is not a Project GC problem, it's the same in the Geocaching map, but I thought you might know.

Hi, I have used the 366-day-checker:

for several months without any problems. However a couple of days ago I started getting the same error message whenever I intend to run it.

The script is started, runs for a few seconds and the breaks with Error Caught Exception.

Hope there is a timely fix for this.

On PGC my diamond badge says I have 77 events hosted (and need 13 to go up a level)

I have one event in progress (held tomorrow, 28 April) which might allow for one error.

Why is there a 4-5 event discrepancy between PGC and GC? Is there a bug in PGC's event counting?

i Project-GC team,

I'm building a desktop app for geocaching challenge-checking that needs to assign caches to counties / regions in the same way Project-GC does. Thanks to Pleu's earlier answer (https://project-gc.com/?qa=30819) we already know that PGC uses **osm-boundaries.com, database `osm20210412`, admin_level 6** as the base, and that **UK has "many special rules and unions"** on top.

I downloaded the same source data and compared the raw feature count with what Project-GC shows in its statistics. Most countries differ – sometimes by a few features, sometimes drastically:

To match Project-GC exactly, I'd need to know per country:

1. **Which admin_level is used?** (We assume level 6 for most, but BE/CH/LU/NL=8, HU=7, etc. – is this correct?)
2. **What additional filtering is applied?** Examples for DE we found:
- Excluded: `Evangelische Landeskirche in Baden`, `Landkreis Bühl (historisch)`, `Landkreis Kehl`, `Landkreis Lahr` (the latter three were dissolved in 1973)
Are there similar exclusion lists for other countries?
3. **For UK specifically:** What "unions" are performed? E.g., is `Bristol` formed by merging multiple OSM boundaries? Is there a list of these unions?
4. **For FR:** Are overseas departments (DOM-TOM) included or excluded? Anything else?
5. **Is there any data file or documentation** that lists the exact set of regions used per country?

I'm happy to share my work back to the community. Goal is a stable, project-gc-compatible county lookup for offline use.

discrepancy in profile stats and needed found date tool

I appear to have a discrepancy between the profile statistics "Attended events by event date" and the Needed found dates tool. For May 30th, the profile statistics show that I NEED a regular event on that day when I filter for regular events. The Needed found dates tool shows that i DO NOT NEED a regular event on that day. I have manually reviewed a fresh my find PQ from GCHQ using GSAK and I do not have a regular event attended on May 30th.

Profile does not exist

I have just come across something I have not seen before - putting in a cachers ID in the profile name box - to be met with a large yellow triangle with a big black exclamation mark and underneath This profile does not exist
I am aware that when cachers dont wish for their stats to be viewed they can select that option and the page comes up with the statement about opting out etc - but the above seems to suggest the cacher name is not recognised despite it being copied and pasted from the GC profile - is this a glitch or another option that cachers can select ?

Diekirch shows 0 founds.

But I do actually have found some caches in Diekirch, back in 2023.

And that is not the onliest county in Luxemburg that shows up as unfound, but I actually have found some.

Anybody an idea how come?

archived caches in an area

Is there a way of identifying all previous caches (those now archived) placed in a small area (I'm talking as small as a village) - I am aware you can find those archived ones that you have found, however I am asking about all caches that have been placed and the many (or few) that have been archived.

I still see the D/T combination only for the whole matrix (showing the missing combination, which is missing from my next, 19th matrix), not just for individual cache types (EC only, virtual only, etc., separate D/T). I guess I don't understand how to do it... Example: I don't want to finish my 19th matrix, but I want to finish only my first EC matrix, or my first Large size cache matrix, or a Challenge cache matrix, etc.

I was using a checker ( https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCBM4Q8/113058 ) for a new challenge cache (UK based) where I needed to find 5 icons in each of 5 of the 6 Eastern England Counties and the output showed that I had completed four of the counties and so needed one more from the remaining two. The output also told me how many were needed in those other counties (though it didn't tell me what I had got so I would know what I needed, So I had to research that myself !!)
So this is where the confusion arose - For Essex it says I had 4 types already found - when I checked using GSAK I could only identify 3 types (Trad, Multi and Unknown) I then researched with the map compare tools in PGC (specifically for Essex) and discovered that the checker must have also included a virtual which is located in the English Channel along with a trad - both obtained on a boat trip.

Now though neither of those caches are assigned a county in GSAK it is evident that they are assigned to Eastern England in PGC else they would not have shown up when researching Eastern England finds in map compare but also making the virtual the 4th icon for Essex in the checker output - so what is confusing about that is... both are showning South East England as the region on geocaching site (as seen on the cache page for each one )
So how is it that PGC says they are in Eastern England when Geocaching site says they are in South East England ?

Why doesn't the virtual GPS button show up on the 360 tool map?

I am an active member and have used the 360 tool to identify sectors where I need to find caches. When I select a sector on the map, I can see the available caches within that sector, but I do not see the virtual GPS icon on the map to be able to select the lasso tool. I can add caches to my active virtual GPS one at a time by clicking on the cache icon and then selecting the add to GPS icon, though that is terribly inefficient.

lists of extremes - not able to complete

I have noted that I am not able to complete the list of extremes for my county or my region due to owning a cache that fulfils one of the criteria.
Is there no fall back for a CO who is in this position to be able to complete by either allowing the relevant cache to be accepted or for the next cache in order to be accepted for that CO

I have earlier been able to add a loop count in the Map - D/T Matrix function, but can´t find it now. Has it been removed?

This has been very useful and I have previously been able to do this regulary. If I visit a new area, there might be no suitable caches to visit for the next loop, but plenty for the ones after that.

Don´t remember for sure when I did it last time, but think I at least did it last summer.

Typing in the search bar at top and clicking the magnifying glass apparently doesn't actually do anything? I have tried repeatedly to put various terms in but nothign at all happens.

The tips told me I can sign up for log change notifications for my owned caches, but I have been through all the menus and found nothing.

BTW there is no link to just go to the forums? If there is, do please let me know where to find it!

Feature request: please add filtering to list of Signed Challenges

With a lot of signed challenges it is difficult and time-consuming to go thru the list looking for cache size, DT, attributes etc. Is it possible to add filtering options to the page, eg. "Filter out/in all challenges requiring climbing gear".

On the profile stats page, https://project-gc.com/Statistics/ProfileStats, there is a link stating "Permanent link to this profile." When I click the link, it takes me to https://project-gc.com/ProfileStats/Optimist+on+the+run which returns the error "This profile does not exist."

The URL should not have the + signs in it.

The list of extremes has all the countries where I've cached except Spain.

The issue was that "exclude unfound" was checked, which meant it wasn't showing any unfound caches. Don't remember checking that, but unchecking it fixed the issue.

No caches are showing up when I go to map unfound caches while looking in the "Map Counties" section. I'm a paid member and logged in.

Hallo,

Seit ein paar Tagen kann ich keine direkten Abfragen in der Live Karte mit x,5 Wertungen bei der D und auch bei der T Wertung machen. Ich muss dann immer den x,0 Wert davor nehmen und bekomme dann alles angeboten was zwischen den beiden x,0 Werten liegt.
Beispiel: Ich suche nach einem Multi mit der Wertung D4,5 T2,5. Mit den Schieberegler muss ich nun D4,0-5,0 und T2,0-3,0 einstellen. Dann werden mir alle Multis wie mit dem Regler eingestellt sind angezeigt, was natürlich nicht das ist was ich haben will. Stelle ich D4,5 und T2,5 ein, werden mir nur Caches mit D5,0 und T3,0 angezeigt.

Hello, I am using Firefox browser (latest version), installed greasemonkey and the Project-GC Userscript. Currently the menu is being displayed under the banner on the Geocaching.com website. Tried this on a different computer with Edge and Tampermonkey and its doing the same. What could be causing this? Is there a fix? I have an image but not sure how to attach it.

Virtual GPS Map issue? Using the selection tool to select caches, it looks like it removes caches but it is not

I'm in the virtual GPS map view. I want to select multiple geocaches to remove from my virtual GPS. I circle the caches with the tool, click remove and it looks like it removes them viewing the map but the cache count on the Virtual GPS stays the same. And when I refresh the map they are still in the virtual GPS map and the Virtual GPS.

I have screen shots, I'm not sure how to atttach them. It rejected me copying/pasting them here.

I can individually click each cache and choose to remove, that is working correctly. Its just the selecting tool that is not working.

Can I ask a question privately?

When I click on the map of districts in the Czech Republic and mark where I have completed the Cache in Trash Out event, all the districts are green, as if I have completed it. I know that in 14 districts I have not completed the Cache in Trash Out event and they should be red. I have cleared the memory, I have also cleared the cookies. Do you have any idea what the problem is? Thank you.

360°: sectors displayed differently dependend on zoom factor

I noticed a issue on the 360°-from-home-map if the distance from home increases (tested at ~1000km).

You could see:

the sector is not covering the area of the caches (loaded by clicking the sector)
the same sector is shown on a different area by only using another zoom factor

Red markers are for orientation only and mark the same locations

stats are not updated for 13 days

I'm a little suprised : my stats where updated on february the 20th, whe are now march the 5th and no new update appairs, i wonder why ? Up to 8 or 9 days seem a normal situation, but now it's 13 days !

I was trying to add geocaches to my virtual GPS but it is not working (removing doesn't work either). I click on the cache, hit the virtual GPS button and nothing happens.

I can click on a cache, click on the coordinates which takes me to the live map and then add them. But from county maps, nothing.

I'm using Google Chrome, Version 145.0.7632.75 (Official Build) (64-bit).

Finding virtual caches by county

I've been using "map compare" to find virtual caches by county that I have not found. I enter my geo name and Geocaching HQ Admin to compare against. This was the name I was given some time ago. It's always worked just fine. Today, I get the message that the compare name is "invalid", and "The player compare profile name and geocache 'Show' filters are required". All are filled in. Any idea what the problem is?

Custom lists

Hi

I am trying to set up a custom list to place in the milestones tab
I have gone through the process of naming, selecting the tab (milestones) and selecting bookmark list for the type - selecting which bookmark I want as the source (having put my ID in that section too)
I then clicked on submit and then save

Nothing - all that appears is a heading banner (with what I named ) but no cache list - shows '0'
I am aware of others do the same list and advising that their list populated straight away
I also waited a day once submitted and saved to see if waiting would help - but still no
I did consider the bookmark list status as a possible barrier so have tried this with the bookmark list set at private, shareable and public and it didn't work with any of these

I also tried by using the GC code list (copy paste comma seperated list into the box) but this came up with an error message every time -
Internal server error (6998be7ee19c07.70822645)

Though the last bit changed each time I tried that.

Though the bookmark list would be the better way to go as having to update the GC list would be more faff

I am not sure what I am doing wrong here - if anything

*Edit* - having tried several times to get this working, the day after I wrote this post I tried again and this time it worked - possibly a brief glitch, but now sorted
