Why to open GC profile to public, to show my private data within PGC?

I'm confused, a change today (11.11.25) - I do not know PGC or GC
made PGC unusable for myself.

e.g. i cant use

challenges checkers for myself

D/T Matrix check for myself

Challenge checkers for myself

etc.

Privacy settings should so my understanding prevent others to see the protected data.

but why this is no preventing me to see my data myself?

this confuses me know a lot ...

in addtion i would also ask that friends are also should be able to see my data if i allow that ,,,,

I have to Authenticate every time I open a PGC window. Can it be fixed?

I see this was asked in 2018 & 2019, but this is new in the last few months for me. I have to re-authenticate every time I open a PGC window, and when I'm looking at checkers, that can be every 2 minutes. I've verified that my GC.com profile allows app authorizations for PGC, so that's not the problem. This started about Dec 2024/Jan 2025. Thank you.

Web Browser Extension Will Not Authenticate

I am running the latest version of Safari. I use Tampermonkey to run the web browser extension. It wasn't until recently that Tampermonkey would load the Project GC script. It was fixed.

Now, I cannot get the web extension to authenticate. It reads, "Not Logged In" at the top of the Geocaching page. If I click the link, I go to a page that tells me to authenticate. I click the Authenticate button and am taken to another page on Geocaching with a button to Agree to the authorization. Then the page goes to Project GC. But I am never logged in to the web extension. It continues to read, "Not Logged In". And I am not logged in.

I did try removing authorization for Project GC on the Geocaching web site. I have run the script on other devices.

Is this a Geocaching issue? Project GC issue? Tampermonkey issue? Any help would be appreciated.

we are having problems authenticating on an iMac with Safari browser. We have emailed support but no answer as yet. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Anybody else feel like they're being asked to authenticate a lot more often? It's almost every time I visit.

This has to do with routine visits to the site, which I tend to do on a daily basis. It used to be I was only asked to re-athenticate when I accessed project gc from a different device. Going from desktop to mobile to desktop I'd be asked when I made device changes. But now I'm being asked over and over after successive desktop visits. It's getting really annoying.

Authenticate from more than one device

It would seem that the Geocaching.com authentication routine has to be re-rerun every time I switch from one device (or one browser) to another. If I stay in the same browser it stays authenticated for however long, but the instant I use my mobile, another PC or even another browser (IE11 from Chrome for example) PGC has to re-authenticate. Then the instant I switch back to the previous browser it go again.

I believe the token can cope with multiple links as other geocaching.com authenticators cope fine. It is just Project-GC that has to get a new one. Can this be remedied please?

Authorization every day??

I use Firefox 66.0.2 on a PC.

Since about one week I have to run through the authorization procedure once a day!

On my iPad this is not the case.

How can I get rid of this daily authorization?

Stuck in infinite authentication loop, nothing helped... what now??

I can't authenticate anymore. In the upper right corner it reads my GC-username but when i click on profile stats it wants to authenticate. And that never ends :-(

I've already logged out and in from geocaching.com, deleted all browser data and switched PC and browser - nothing helps.

What is the solution?? Any help is really appreciated :-)

Hello over there,

since a few weeks project-gc is asking for authentication every single day, sometimes even twice a day.
I already revoked the authentication via gc.com's settings and made it completely new from scratch at project-gc, but to no avail.

Is this a general or just a local problem - and if the latter, do you have an idea how to fix it?

I get the message "Please authenticate us ..." in the dynamical picture in my Geocaching profile information.

I included the HTML code for the dynamical picture with my statistics in the About section of my Geocaching profile. The profile stats from project-gc are displayed fine, but there is the message "Please authenticate us with your Groundspeak account to get a lot more features." at the beginning. I already linked my account. Therefore, I am confused how to solve this issue. Can anyone help me? Thank you very much in advance!

Reauthenticate after logging on to a dfferent gc.com profile

I authenticated when i came on to Project-GC his morning. Now I have logged on to GC.com under a different name and I'd like to reauthenticate using the new log on. Now I do not see the Authenticate button.
