import bookmarklist to virtual gps inclusive bookmarklist notes

I have this list: https://coord.info/BMADMGZ containing 1000 geocaches and notes in the bookmarklist notes. Because of the restriction of 1000 caches I would like to continue with this list as a Virtual GPS instead. But the bookmarklist notes are important for me. Is there a way to import the bookmark list into the Virtual gps inclusive the bookmark list notes? Without copying them all manually of course.

Geocaching lists support a comment field, inappropriately called "Geocache Description". On the assumption that something useful is recorded in there, this data should also be included in the vGPS "Import from Bookmark List" option. This comment field could be imported into the vGPS "Usernote 1" field.

In my Lonely Caches list I record how was a lonely cache find, and I thought importing this list into a vGPS and exporting into a spreadsheet would make it easy for me to do some analysis on this. Alas, no. For now I will have to find another way.

Challenge checker on bookmarklist

It would be nice to see the results of the challenge checker on all the geocaches in a bookmarklist, making it easier to see when the requirements for several challenges you are working against at once.

Do you have custom lists in your milstones tab? If so, what do you put in it? I'm looking for examples to add to the Wiki page.

To get the ball rolling, I've got lists of SideTracked caches and Church Micro caches I've found in mine.

As the full FTF list has disappeard from the FTF tab, I thought I'd add my list to the milestones tab instead. However when I try to add a list, I put my name next to "Bookmark list", click "Get bookmark lists", but the dropdown menu it provides is blank. I have several publicly available lists (including my FTF list), so I can only assume this is a bug. Tried in Firefox and IE.

Unable to map bookmark list for user with plus sign in name

I am trying to use the Map bookmarklist tool to map a certain list. It is this one:

It is owned by a user that is called "Jimbo+hap.dk". As you may have noticed, they have a plus sign ('+') in their name.

Autocomplete for the Owner field at the Map bookmarklist stops suggesting names when you get to the plus sign (no suggestions). If you type it all in yourself and click "Get lists", the drop-down menu comes up empty.

The list in question is very much public/shared, so I am guessing something is up with the handling of the plus sign.

VGPS map of just puzzle solution coordinates

Is there an easy way in VGPS to create a map using only corrected co-ordinates from a whole series of puzzle solutions in the same area? We want to map a series of about 50 puzzle solution positions. We see that we can put 'corrected' lat and long coordinates in a VPGS list in the columns provided, but can we then map just these rather than the original coordinates which already appear in the same list? We have looked in questions but can't find a specific answer.

greasemonkey - show caches of a bookmarklist in a map

At geocaching.com I opened one of my bookmark-lists. After installing the Greasemonkey add on, there appeared a new button: "Map This!". After clicking that "Map This!" - button i was sent to the project-gc site, a formular opened where my username and my ownername was already set, but only one of my bookmarlists was to be seen. Then i clicked the "get lists" button on the right side, but nothing happend ... i expected to get now all my gc.com lists here to choose one and get a map with the caches which are in the selected list... can anybody help me, where is my mistake ?

Bookmarklist mapping in Greasemonkey script

Related to http://project-gc.com/qa/?qa=12405/map-bookmarklist-settings as well as https://github.com/magma1447/greasemonkey-geocaching-projectgc/issues/32 which is a recent enhancement added to the script. When you view a bookmark list on geocaching.com, you now have a link to view the bookmarklist on PGC.

Should a new enhancement be suggested to the script so that it only shows the PGC map link if the bookmarklist is shared and/or public, whichever the appropriate option needs to be? If it's not shared, it can't be displayed on PGC, as far as I know. Maybe this is only relevant to our own caches since a cacher probably can't view a bookmark list page for another cacher if it's not shared.

An alternative enhancement would be that PGC doesn't require sharing when viewing a cachers own bookmark lists.

Or am I misunderstanding some setting, option, behavior of the new feature?

Map Bookmarklist settings

Since it seems our own boookmark lists should be accessible without making them public, is there a reason that they aren't? I know from using a smartphone app like Cachly that it can read my own bookmark lists https://www.geocaching.com/my/lists.aspx but it seems I need to make them "public" to access my own lists on Project GC.

Also, even after making the list public, it seems to take a while (hours?) before the list shows up on the Project GC Map Bookmarklist page - http://project-gc.com/Tools/MapBookmarklist

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick not to make my own lists public and for them to show immediately on PGC?

I want to look at, map and filter one of my bookmark lists entitled "Traditionals45km", but only the first 19 bookmark lists show. I have about 30 lists. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Importing from (groundspeaks) bookmark list is an great feature and there I can see all my bookmark lists while e.g. at filtering against (my) bookmark lists I only see public ones, but this might be another case or an bug.

In combination with "export to bookmark list" (where also any of my bookmark lists are available for me) an extend to that feature "only filtered" could be a great feature that you can move selections from one vgps to another vgps easily or merge vpgs. this would make planning tours much more easier.

It would be great, if the bookmarklist for a filter mustn't be public. In VGPS-Import all bookmarklists can be used, even those which are not shared and not public.

I want to use the bookmarklist filter, but the get command doesn't work. The pulldown list remains empty. It doesn't matter if the bookmark list is public, shared or not.

The VGPS bookmarklist-import works.

I have created a bookmark on Geocaching.com and shared and made it public but when I try to use the "Map Bookmark" option under tools and input my user name in the box it searches but does not find it. Why?

I am the owner of a couple of challenge caches in Aarhus, Denmark. They can be found in this list:

The concept is that you can choose to spend some time mapping your finds into which "card" you can potentially hold, and then use those cards to form poker hands. If you have the cards in your hand to form a given poker hand, you qualify to log the corresponding cache. A neat little puzzle, that for most people (1000+ caches found) won't take more than an hour or two to complete - not much work for 9 caches.

My question is then this: Is it possible for me as a cache owner to "opt out" of the challenge checker program? The difficulty ratings of these caches are based on people doing the work themselves. It would not be fair to those who have already logged the series to "downgrade" the difficulty rating of them if a challenge checker should arrive, thereby drastically reducing the difficulty.

I know that many other person-to-cache relations in Project GC are implemented through bookmark lists on geocaching.com. I am asking for the possibility as a cache owner to make a list for those caches that I would like to "opt-out" of the challenge checking program and then having it linked into project GC, much in the same way as f.ex. the FTF-list works.

Thanks for a great feature - with the hope that it can be even better by aligning the intent of challenge cache owners with the functionality of the site.

I have a large 1000 caches bookmark lists of cemetery caches in my province. I would like to create a Virtual GPS of that list and then narrow that list down to a radius of about 50km from a city I'll be visiting. Then I'd like to save that smaller list as a GPX file.

Can I do this with Project-GC?

I tried the gallery today and realised that the filter on bookmark lists that I have on GC.com does not work correctly. When I retrieve the list, only the FTF list is shown, none of the other 4 lists I have. Same behaviour in "map bookmarklist". Any clues?

Map Bookmarklist returns an empty list (not an error)

I'm trying to display one of my bookmark lists on a map. I am properly authenticated (as far as I can tell; other features work perfectly well) and I do have bookmark lists. But the dropdown field remains empty.

I checked on various days, the result stays the same: I select my username, click on "Get Lists" and get back an empty set (one empty field in the dropdown). However no error message.

How can I further troubleshoot this?
