condensed filter option for cache types

In the filter list for cache locations, there are at first the continents and then the individial countries.

I like to have this kind of filter for cache type lists, that there is an filter option for example "physical cache types", "events cache types", "virtual cache types".

With this condensed filter, you don't have to click on for example traditional, multi, wherigo, letterbox, unknown when you want to filter for all physical cache types.

Is there a description how to use custom filters?

I would like to create a list of all my T5 finds. I thought to do it with the custom filters. Unfortunately there is no description how to use it.

A cache disabled in Geocaching.com still appears as enabled in Project-gc.

The cache was disabled on October 26th, more than 2 weeks ago :

The cache is enabled on project-gc livemap, and enabled for challenge checkers.

Is is normal to have this discrepancy between geocaching.com and project-gc lasting for more than 2 weeks ?

Statistics: TB drops and visits per geocache

I guess the statistics would be a good tool for those of us who have an interest in TB’s.

Hallo, I have a question: could PGC show all of my cache found (name, code, date, kind), could this list be differently filtered or advised and exported to any CSV or XLS? It would be a good challenge cache tool that does not include a script for verification or just for prominals :-) I just do not want to use the other SW that does it, but otherwise PGC is absolutely satisfying :-) Thank you :-) HawkeyeCZ

Is a cache visible before it is actually published?

I have placed a new cache and it was published today.

I set it to premium member only and so i am able to see the audit log.

The cache was published on 03.09.2018, at 08:01.

In the audit log i expected only to see the reviewer and myself.

But in the log are 50+ cachers who visited my cache since 02.09.2018, 23:01. They are all regional cachers.

Is there a way to see the cache before it was published? Or is there a way to get the GC Codes, that will be published within the next hours?

I think it should be part of the game, to tell the community, that the "hunt" is done.

Sometimes I wonder, what the idea is, to wait for a long time to get it done?

I myself want to know it, when my own new "baby" has been spotted first time, not only because of the reason that it is done, but also because the hide is to be found.

After the first Found is done, I understand, if one does only saves an field note in order to write a good Log. But at the "hunt" itself i think it is fair thing to all the other hunters.

What do you think about that?

New cache notifier based on cache owner

The feature I have been missing the most in new cache notifiers is the option to get an email when a certain owner has published a new cache. I have a bunch of owners I like a lot and would be glad to receive a notification if one of them has created a new cache. With only geography-based filtering I get a lot of false positives.

It would be fantastic if I could set up a list of cache owners in the PCG new cache notifier section and get an email if one of these owners has published something new. Additional filtering for cache type would also be nice.

I hope also other users might find this an useful feature.

Recently I have discovered this new feature of PGC. Great! Really much helpful and powerful tool. I like there is no perimeter limit and the format of the incoming mail is just super. Contains all the useful listing info, including geocache location maps with few zoom levels. I like the possibility to set the whole country and all of the types of caches notification in just one request. Very useful nowadays, when new virtuals are coming out. Concerning the daily/monthly usage limits, I have no objection. In my opinion 100/500 is quite enough. My experience is, that there is only and exactly one minute delay of the notification email comparing to the "original" one from the GC site. What I only miss, and consider the essential function, it is not working filter for regions/counties yet. With this filter the feature will become just perfect.

What is your opinion about and experience with the PGC New cache notifier?

Hello!

I would like to check whether user x has logged geocache y AND I want to see all the log entries of this user for this geocache.

Is this possible with project-gc?

If not:

Please consider adding a feature where username and cache-code is entered and the result is a list of all logentries which the user has written in the caches logbook.

New cache-sizes planned by geocaching.com?

I just got an email from Geocaching HQ regarding container sizes. In the survey they asked for large,medium, small and extra small cache sizes..

I wonder if Geocaching HQ is going to mess up the known sizes with the ones mentioned in the survey.

In my opinion they should leave it as it is, but with the addition of nano-sized caches.

What do you think? Are they going to mess things up? Do you see an improvement in the possibly new named cache sizes? Or do you think they leave it as it is?

What do fellow cachers think about Groundspeaks new web site "Logging" screen?

I personally feel the new web based logging screen is a step backwards for the geocaching community. Though you can opt out of the new format when logging a find directly from the cache page, you cannot opt out when logging from uploaded field notes (Drafts) from a GPS'r or a Smartphone app.

What I see missing with the new cache logging page:

- No text editing capabilities

- No emojis

- Not able to insert a caption for a picture

- Not able to upload multiple pictures

- No ability to visit "all" trackables

- No indication of how many favorites you have remaining

- Needs maintenance notification to simplistic

- No ability to mark a cache for "Needs Archived"

- Inefficient screen layout

- It appears Groundspeak is trying to make the web site look like their new Smartphone App.

I look forward to reading the thoughts of others (good and bad) regarding this "new" web based cache logging screen.

it would be great to have the same filter for cache owner names. just like the one for cache names.

Options for "starting with" and "ends with". I know I can set up a personal filter for complete owner names, but I would need one for "starting with".

Feature Request: Map Compare - separate out Comparee's hides

When I run map compare to compare my stats with a friends, I'm looking to see what caches we haven't done. However there are ones they have done I haven't because they are my caches and vice versa ones they haven't done because they are their caches.

In the map compare could you exclude from the stats caches that were hidden by either cacher being compared. Or include an extra stats line.

So instead of:

20 caches only X has logged

24 caches only Y has logged

have perhaps something like:

15 caches only X has logged - they have logged 5 caches belonging to Y

12 caches only Y has logged - they have logged 12 caches belonging to X

Even better if it said "they have logged 5 caches belonging to Y (62% of Y's caches)".

If this to possible to show coords of final cache when someone have 90% of series?

Like in topic - is there any option to show final coordinates.
Example - there is series of 100 caches around forest and one cache is bonus and I wants to do that when someone receive 90founds of this series will receive coords of final cache.
I was thinking to do this like challenge but then some one can type some one other nick to checker and coords will show...

There you can start a query with options that contains the word "Challenge".

The word Challenge is static and couldn't be changed.

I need a query, where I can put my own word as part of the name (e.g. Bridge). Does anybody know something, that I have overlooked on this beautiful page?

It's me again. :-)

This time I would like to suggest a feature which already exists for owners. It is that "Logs received over time" feature.

I miss this feature for caches. I would like to see a histogram of logs on a per cache basis.

Use Case:

I am interested in the performance of caches. I want to know, when people found a cache over its lifetime and compare that to other caches.

It's rather similar to the owner based "Logs received over time", but here we can see, how logs accumulated over time and see when there were lots of people visiting a cache and when interest in a cache increased or decreased.

Right now, when you click on a cache on Map Compare an info pops up with some cache details.

Could you please also add the cache owner to this info?

Right now, if I want to know who has hidden a cache, I have to click the cache name and another window opens with the listing. Adding the cache owner name to the short info, would save a lot of time.

Hi,

I've found following case and I'm not able to find the solution:

I have a Cache list with two sections. As far as I understand, sections should give an option to manage caches in cache lists.

So what happened - I've created a section in my cache list and wanted to add a cache to this section using "Add to Virtual GPS" from a map (for example Top Favourites) at Project-GC. As a result I'm getting new section created, which is called "map" and I'm not able to move the cache to another section in the same cache list.

Ufff, I hope that my description is not too complicated. If so, I can provide some screenshots!
