Would it be possible to export corrected coordinates from a GPX back to geocaching.com?

If a group of people have solved a geo-art series and someone has typed the corrected coordinates back in geocaching.com. Would it be possible to export a GPX file and have the other users use it to export the corrected coordinates back into their own accounts?

Feature Request: Use corrected coordinates for Highest and Lowest Elevations stats section

Currently, the profile stats show the elevation of posted coordinates. This means that for most cachers, the lowest elevation list consists of mystery caches that have the posted coordinates in the sea. Making that part of statistics pretty much random.

E.g. On my profile, 9/10 caches in there show up as below sea level, although they are all actually above it.

Because PGC has the access to read corrected coordinates, I thought that maybe it's possible to implement that part of the stats to show them instead.

P.S. Alternatively, if for some reason this is not possible, could we get the option of manually excluding caches from only that part of stats, using a bookmark list?

P.P.S. Some people have raised the argument "But then I can just correct some cache coordinates to the middle of the ocean and get the deepest badge!"
This argument does not seem valid to me - bogus correcting like that would be no different than couch logging a random cache to claim some other badge - you are only cheating yourself this way, and it is not possible to enforce stopping it.
At the moment this stat is a bogus one for 90% of cachers anyway. By using corrected coordinates, it would become bogus for the 0.01% of cheaters, yes, but it would be correct for others. (Sorry for the rant)

only show mysteries with corrected coordinates on map

Is there a way to only show mystery caches which have corrected coordinates in Live Map or Map Compare?

Scenario Tour Planning:

- solo: using Live Map to identify interesting area, however besides Tradis, Multis, LBs, I'm only interested in mysteries which have been already solved, i.e. have corrected coordinates or challenges fulfilled. Is there any way to omit unsolved mysteries on the map?
Mystery cache with corrected coordinates not showing up when bogus coordinates are outside visible range.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it was intentionally done this way.
I know that mystery caches that have corrected coordinates on the geocaching.com site will show up on the Project-GC live map at the corrected coordinates.
However, I have just noticed that if I move or zoom in such that the original/bogus coordinates are outside the visible part of the map, but the corrected coordinates are in the middle of my screen, the cache disappears from the map.

So could it be that it shows the loaded caches at their corrected coordinates but only loads the caches of which the original/bogus coordinates are on the visible map section ?

Kind regards,
Map filter: corrected coordinates

Apologies if this has been asked before, but it would be very helpful if there was an option on the map to see the corrected coordinates for puzzles & multis even after they're logged. It's annoying that the icon reverts back to the unrelated location after logging a find.

Seems like if you have done the work to solve a puzzle and find a cache, you've "earned the right" to see where it is on the map moving forward instead of having to hunt & peck at the map in a 2 mile radius? This would be helpful for seeing which areas may be open for new caches, too.

I understand not everyone would want this (might mess up geoart, etc), so having it as a toggle option (show corrected/show original) seems useful. Thanks for considering this!

Feature request: Show corrected in Map Compare

When planning my trips I often start with Map Compare. However I do not like to clutter my GPX with puzzle caches I have not yet solved, so I would like to have a map compare view that excludes unsolved puzzles to help plan my trip and my gpx file.

Could we have a new Map Compare filter "Puzzles without corrected coordinates: Include/exclude" (default = include)

Of course, this also applies to multis, but this is a much smaller problem as most multis are easily solved in the field.

Would make sense as a premium only feature.

How do I exclude a particular cache for consideration for cache extremes?

One of the caches I have found is the puzzle cache HI EPE (GC3895) (https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3895_hi-epe). The cache is located in Georgia, about an hour away from my house, but the posted coordinates are located half a world away, in the southern Indian Ocean (a fact that is integral to the puzzle). I have listed the correct coordinates in the personal cache note space on the cache page and have entered the corrected coordinates on the cache page. Nevertheless, in the "Some Numbers" section of my profile states generated by Project-GC, this cache continues to be listed as my furthest cache found, the most eastern & southerly cache found and the cache with the lowest elevation (14,665 ft below sea level). It should not be any of those cache extremes. GSAK allows me to exclude this cache from consideration in determining cache extremes, but if Project_GC has a similar capability, I haven't been able to find it. I have used Self Support to refresh corrected coordinates, to refresh this particular cache and to refresh all my finds, all to no effect. How do I fix this?

extracting "corrected coordinates" from "personal cache notes"

upon exporting a GPX from a VGPS, p-gc tries to be smart and parses personal cache notes for coordinates and if it finds coordinates, independent of any context, it puts them into the "corrected latitude / corrected longitude" columns in a CSV export of the VGPS in question (It seems it operates on a first come first server princple).

Although I realize why this has been implemented this way, long time ago, now that Groundspeak supports a clear definition of what "corrected coordinates" are, I consider p-gc's behaviour a bad thing to do.

Here is an example: Assume I am working with a "Traditonal Cache", and I put parking coordinates into the Personal Cache Notes (because the owner has the parking coordinates only as plain text in his listing), p-gc takes the parking coordinates and puts the into the CSV as "corrected coordinates", essentially overriding the coordinates where I would truely find the cache in the field.

The least thing I would like to ask for is that I want to be able to optionally disable this functionality as it completely screws up my workflow.

To the authors of p-gc: Thank you very much for providing p-gc!

Updated GC corrected coords from Personal Cache Note

The geocaching.com site/API has recently appeared to stabilize around the Corrected Coordinates data field and supporting corrected coordinates across cache types.

Some apps and some sites such as PGC have supported specifying corrected coordinates in the personal cache note. It might be nice now to update the formal GC Corrected Coordinates data field for those caches.

Please consider an option via a VGPS to update corrected coordinates for the caches that contain them. I suggest a flow such as https://project-gc.com/Profile/SolvedMysteries?hidefound=on&hideowned=on&hidearchived=on&submit=Filter to find all a users solved caches which are not yet found, owned or disabled. They can be added to a new VGPS (all or as many as the user wants), and then on the https://project-gc.com/User/VirtualGPS page and under the Export drop-down, have an option to Update Geocaching.com Corrected Coordinate.

Does that seem like a useful feature for PGC users?

virtual gps search fails on corrected coordinates

I've several virtual GPS instances in my list. Some are mine and some are shared from other persons here (visible by the add of '(shared by ...)' as the list's name.

Because these lists contains (mystery) caches with real corrected coordinates and some to solve and therefore without such data, I tried to search for them through the "glass" below the matrix table.

I try with "corrected latitude" with different settings in the selection, but no one works.

First I thought that this might be a problem of the selected UI language, but the behaviour is the same on the english UI.

Any idea?

Can you change the icon of caches with corrected coordinates when building a gpx from virtual gpx?

I'm pretty sure the feature isn't there, either that or I really cant find it. I'm looking to be able to change the icons of caches (such as mysteries) that have corrected coords (to something such as locationless) so when I build a gpx from the virtual gps and upload it to the real gps I can tell the difference between ones that are corrected and that are not, making it easier and quicker in the field.

Error when "refresh corrected coordinates"

Yesterday I tried to build a couple of gpx's. Everytime I got a message saying: "Unknown error." and the job wouldn't go through.

After trying again today, I found out that the error only occurs when the box "refresh corrected coordinates" is checked. All other combinations of checkmarks works fine, and the gpx rushes through.

I've consulted the fb-group but they've never heard about this problem before, and they referred me to "support" on the website ... so here I am

Solved puzzles ignoring corrected coords

I am calling this a bug, but it might be a feature request: On the solved puzzles page it states: If a cache has both corrected coordinates and a cache note with coordinates in it, the corrected coordinates will be used.

However if there is a cache note that has no coordinates, PGC ignores the corrected coordinates. Given that cache notes are the only way to retrieve caches that might have corrected coordinates, should they not be checked regardless, rather than only if coordinates exist in the notes? Has something failed here?

Caches with uncorrected coordinates?

Is there a map anywhere that can show unknown caches but exclude those with corrected coordinates? The inverse of the Solved Puzzles page would be ideal. If not available it would be nice to make this an option on the Solved Puzzles page.

In preparation of a tour I have added a lot of solved mystery coordinates on gc.com as "corrected coordinates". I didn't enter anything in the notes field. Only updated the coordinates.

BUT also I did that 3 days ago, no cache showed up within "solved Mystery" query.

How can I force the update?

If the time is up to 90 days as it is mentioned somewhere, this feature is not useful anymore. I don't mind if such a "automatic" update last 1 day, but everything else ....

Please help! If there is no option, a box to enter a list of GC code will be good for paying members, so that the update of a certain number of cache is FORCED.
