gpx export of VGPS waypoints with import issue in locus,gdak,cgeo

Regularily I'm using 'create gpx' from a VGPS which issues a job finalized into a downloadable zip file.

Further I use pocket queries from groundspeak too.

While the latter manually or the right way (cgeo) imported into above mentioned tools also import and show waypoints (from caches which have some), importing vgps created zip files import the caches and try to start the waypoint import (from wpts file), but finishes very fast and without any of the available waypoints.

Locus e.g. show final result with ### caches , 0 waypoints imported. In cgeo a refresh of e.g. a cache having a parking location before show 0 waypoints, after the refresh 1 waypoint.

I'm pretty sure that this worked before,but I don't since when its not working anymore...

Personal Cache Notes to be include in VGPS CSV or GPX export

Project-gc does have access to the personal cache notes, so is there a way to include the Personal Cache Notes in the CSV or GPX export of a VGPS?

Is it possible to import an .csv file to the VGPS ?

Hi,

I've build a VGPS list of caches and I wanted to modify the name of the cache. For example "Eiffel-Tower" -> "10-Eiffel-Tower". The number added is in the column "Usernote1". I exported a .csv file from the VGPS and modified the file to get the "Cache name" I wanted.

I'd like to build a .gpx file but I can't import the .csv file to the VGPS.

Is there a way to solve my problem ?

Feature Request: Download/Export statistics as CSV

It would be a nice addition if the numbers of the statistics were also available for download/export as CSV.

So please add a download button to all of the statistics pages (where feasible).

Feature Request: Possibility to automate periodic GPX-Exports (over Statistics and Virtual GPS)

Currently I periodic generate the same type of GPX export file manually every one or two month. I would love to automate this one day and save much time.

What I currently have to do manually:

Open a Statisics page like Top favourites (%)
Filter the results, amongst others with a custom filter like "Fav>80%,min25votes"
(here I have to wait half a minute until the add filter menu and the custom filter menu are both select-able)
"Wait for Data" to see the results (wait around 10 seconds)
Watch the sum of results on the last results page (click through the result pages until I see the number of the last result)
Add Results 1-[sum of results, for example 2421] to a new virtual GPS list, exclude archived
Open the virtual GPS Page
(here I have to wait up to a minute for the active virtual GPS list to be loaded)
Export the List to a GPX File, refresh corrected coordinates
Wait around 5 hours for the file to be generated and then download it

Do you know an easier and quicker way to create this kind of files? I think it would be very helpfull to create the possibility of automate things like this.

Hallo, I have a question: could PGC show all of my cache found (name, code, date, kind), could this list be differently filtered or advised and exported to any CSV or XLS? It would be a good challenge cache tool that does not include a script for verification or just for prominals :-) I just do not want to use the other SW that does it, but otherwise PGC is absolutely satisfying :-) Thank you :-) HawkeyeCZ

Hello. I thought .CSV can read my android app - c:geo. However, it can't. Then I don't understand which program/app/device can read it. I hope you can help me with that. I'm a non on geocaching. I thought .CSV is like .GPX which is only for premium members.

A cautionary tale

Not a question, just a warning for anyone using the "Export to csv" function of the VGPS. I used it yesterday to do some analysis of all webcams past and present (see thread on Groundspeak forum), by using map compare to produce a list of all webcam caches around the world, archived or not, and exported the list to CSV. It prompted me to open or save, and I chose open. I worked on the list for a while, then remembered I was still working on a temporary file and saved as an ordinary xls document. I finished the analysis, posted the results on the forum and saved and closed the file, feeling very smug.

Yesterday evening I went to re-open the file, and found no sign of it. Excel didn't have it in the list of recent files, and it wasn't in my documents. I suddenly realised what I had done wrong - the temporary file was in the temporary internet files folder, and Excel had saved the document in the same place. I spent some time looking through all the temporary folders I could find, and fortunately after a good half hour of searching I found it. However if the computer had cleared the temporary files in the meantime I would have lost it permanently.

So the moral of the tale is this - when exporting any form of file, always make sure you save it before you start, and know where it is!

I would like to make a request for a new Feature. Why not automticaly export an GPX from the virtual GPS to dropbox when ready? So much mobile-apps can work with Dropbox it would be a very nice feature when a GPX will be exportet to an Folder on an private Dropbox when it is ready to download.

Unexpected Unknown Error?

I have been trying to export a virtual gps of size 9999 to gpx with no exports in the last 24 hours and am getting an unknown error. It also seems to be taking much longer than normal to decide this as well.

For those with great view into the situation, it is my virtual gps "mi".

For those with less view, are you seeing anything similar or is it just me?

export to bookmark list : filtered only

Importing from (groundspeaks) bookmark list is an great feature and there I can see all my bookmark lists while e.g. at filtering against (my) bookmark lists I only see public ones, but this might be another case or an bug.

In combination with "export to bookmark list" (where also any of my bookmark lists are available for me) an extend to that feature "only filtered" could be a great feature that you can move selections from one vgps to another vgps easily or merge vpgs. this would make planning tours much more easier.

I recently tried exporting some caches through the virtual GPX function. I had exported some the day before and there was a count of 8700 or so. The new group was around 2500. This failed as expected.

However the next time I went to do an export, the count was shown as below.

You can export 10000 geocaches per 24 hour interval as GPX or CSV. You have exported 11541 the last 24 hours. Note that you can export the same geocaches more than once and that they still only count as one.

This suggests that it included the second attempt in the count even though those were not sent out.

It appears there is an overcounting of exports.

The two new features "import" and "export" of bookmark-lists are very interesting and practical.

But an even more interesting thing would be the automatic synchronization between PGC and GC (in each case for a VGPS / bookmark).

Hi should be fine to have export of day where no founds/ missing days to round 2/3/4... . Exports to ical, import to google or just your fav app.

As the title says: It is very easy to get a list of caches needed to complete something, but I can only get it "to screen". I am not seeing a "export this list to file", "generate PQ from this" or "generate Bookmark List" or similar.

Any hint?
