A friend of mine encountered the problem that her email-address (and therefore also her account) on geocaching.com did not complete the validation process (validation link never arrived). The request of a new link (through geocaching.com -> Settings -> Email Preferences) also didn't work. Due to this she was not able to write any messages or send/receive friend request.

Hello,

There is already functionality to add friends on PGC.
But a feature that is reported for a long time never happened: the GC activity of our friends.

It would be interesting to create a "Live Feed" sorted by date would be listed the various activities of our friends: published new cache, cache disabled / archived, logs found-it / dnf / note, owner maintenance, etc.

One can imagine it this way:

[09/07/2016] <FRIEND01> has found the cache <cacheName>
[LOG + PICTURE]
[09/07/2016] <FRIEND02> has not found the cache <cacheName>
[LOG + PICTURE]
[09/06/2016] <FRIEND01> has published the cache <cacheName>
[LOG + PICTURE]
[09/04/2016] <FRIEND03> has found the cache <cacheName>
[LOG + PICTURE]

This is a feature I've been waiting and it would track our friends, encourage new addicts, and read the fine logs some still do.

Il existe déjà la fonctionnalité pour ajouter des amis sur PGC.
Mais une fonctionnalité qui est signalée depuis longtemps n'est jamais arrivée : l'activité GC de nos amis.

Il serait intéressant de créer une page "Live Feed" triée par date où serait listées les différentes activités de nos amis : nouvelle cache publiée, cache désactivée/archivée, logs found-it/dnf/note, logs maintenance, etc.

On peut imaginer cela de cette façon :

C'est une fonctionnalité que j'attends depuis longtemps et ça permettrait de suivre nos amis, encourager les nouveaux accros, et lire les beaux logs que certains font toujours.

Is it possible to improve firefox plugin to show if any in my friendlist has logged a geocache in the geocache view? And give possibility to view friends logs easy without searching for them?

I don't see in the custom filters the possibility to use the friends list.
Is it already possible? Would it be possible?

By extension, would it be possible to have more than one list of friends or a complementary flag to give the possibility to group friends (by region, by affinity (those liking tradi other liking multi), ..)

yes, it becomes a real complementary relational DB ;-)

Would be great to have a warning when some friend have a certain number of caches found

Would be nice to trigger a mail when certain conditions on a friend are fulfilled, (like recent image or events notifier)

like

number of caches found, parameter the number reach or the multiple of 100, 1000

Fil a specific % of the 81 type, find a 5/5, etc....

Is there already something available, possible to build already now?

could be done on the same way as caches queries, but on the user_id database

Example: I just see a friend finding his 5000th, i would like to have a warning, so i could send him/her congratulation

After the Friends Feature ist working again well, I'd suggest a little addition to this:

Please show PGC premium state of them, because many functionalities are ownly available, e.g. sharing VirtualGPS.

For other discussions such would be very helpful, too.

What would it be nice to have a screen (format someting as the Facebook startpage) showing all de logs of my Friends (ref http://www.geocaching.com/my/myfriends.aspx) in time-chronological order.

What woudl it be nice if I would receive also an email (optional) if a new log of my friends is published.

My Caching Friends (feature/stats idea)

Hello,

I have an idea for additional overview that will fit into Profile section.

My Caching Friends (or whatever we will call it) statistics should show me the list of other geocachers sorted (DESC) by number of caches that we both found on the same day (same Found it / Attended date).

Additional filters can be applied as usual in other views.

Example: This statistics was created on Slovak geocaching.sk website and worked until data flow from gc.com was cut back in 2011. You can still check the outcome here: http://www.geocaching.sk/extra/kto-s-kym.php?login=Rikitan
