GPX of found Adventure Labs

Hi,
I'm looking for a possibility to create a GPX file containing all Adventure Labs that I have found.
I saw that I can get a list of all Adventure Labs, but I didn't found the possibility to create a GPX file.

With best regards, Uwe

Additional child waypoints not added because no matching parents

Lately when I export gpx files from my virtual GPS GSAK is having trouble pulling them in. I have not had a chance to look manually at the underlying XML to know where the issue is.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Route via GPX Import

Hello all!

I'm curious if you can build a route from a GPX (or another file type) or any other way to view caches near a particular route.

What I'm trying to do:

The community is going to be building a power hiking trail along 47 miles of trail surrounding our city. Most of this trail is hiking and not accessible by car. Therefore, I would like to import a custom route in project-gc to see all caches in our area that intersect with the route (come in contact by radius). I've exported the GPX route from Garmin BaseCamp, so it could also be a GDB, CSV, KML, TCX, or Tabbed Text file. As I've solved most the mysteries/multis in town, I'm trying to think of a way I can view final GZ of non traditional caches to warn section owners (adopters/volunteers) of potential placement conflicts--without giving them the GZ coords of a nearby non-traditional caches.

I did look at the GPX tagged topics and searched for the answer previously. I don't think this has been asked before. Apologies if I missed this question.

GPX on Garmin 750t

I have a Garmin 750t. I downloaded a GPX file from Project-GC and added it to the Garmin. After starting up the Garmin it crashes. What is the cause of this and can it be resolved? GPX files from Geocaching.com are working perfectly.
Thanks!
Is it possible to import an .csv file to the VGPS ?

Hi,

I've build a VGPS list of caches and I wanted to modify the name of the cache. For example "Eiffel-Tower" -> "10-Eiffel-Tower". The number added is in the column "Usernote1". I exported a .csv file from the VGPS and modified the file to get the "Cache name" I wanted.

I'd like to build a .gpx file but I can't import the .csv file to the VGPS.

Is there a way to solve my problem ?
Bug: GPX time estimation

Lately, possibly since the new API, whenever I export a vGPS to GPX I am advised that this will take some hours (I had 40 hours once!). Every time it has only been a few minutes at most. Today PGC advised me it would take two hours but was completed in under 10 seconds.

I appreciate it cannot be accurate but a divide by 60 would be a good step!

build gpx queue is long

Howdy,
On the morning of may 4th I requested a couple of GPX files from the export system. This morning may 5th they have not been generated yet.

The queue count show in the export dialog has been creeping up over that time. It is now above 100.
Make option available to include list name in GPX file generated by Virtual GPS

When generating Pocket Queries on geocaching.com, I get to check a box that says "Include Pocket Query name in download file name". This feature is somewhat useful when trying to determine which GPX files on your GPS file system you would like to delete and/or transfer.

Could a similar feature be added to the "Virtual GPS" -> "Export" -> "Build GPX" feature ?

What I am asking is to include the list name inside the zip file in the names of the actual GPX files as well instead of just in the name of the zip file containing them.

Can you change the icon of caches with corrected coordinates when building a gpx from virtual gpx?

I'm pretty sure the feature isn't there, either that or I really cant find it. I'm looking to be able to change the icons of caches (such as mysteries) that have corrected coords (to something such as locationless) so when I build a gpx from the virtual gps and upload it to the real gps I can tell the difference between ones that are corrected and that are not, making it easier and quicker in the field.
Feature request: Add creating and saving gpx tracks on vGPS maps

I use virtual GPS (vGPS) a lot to create tours. vGPS improves picking caches from the live map or map compare tremendously compared to using bookmark lists.

What I am missing is an easy and quick way to create tracks (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPS_Exchange_Format) that I can save into e.g. a gpx file and use it as walking guidance when being in the field.

Currently I have to create these tracks elsewhere after exporting the vGPS and importing the gpx elsewhere. Integrating a track support into vGPS map view would be a great improvement when doing tour planning with vGPS.

Private note content to gpx log entry

Hello,

I'm adding 1 plus 1 (what I see) and get two and thus have following feature request:

- PGC evaluates GC.com private cache note to retrieve final coordinates.

- PGC fills GC.com cache attributes into further cache log write note, when generating a GPX.

Idea: why not (maybe optionally) filling private cache note into a further cache log write note, when generating a GPX? This would be very useful independently of having final coords in that note; but maybe there are interesting information for finding the Cache...

When creating a GPX from the vGPS, is it possible to add US county information to the cache records?

When generating a GPX file, it would be valuable to know the US county in which a cache is located. When creating the Garmin enhancement (PGC-generated) log at the beginning of log list, would it be possible to include the county (and, ideally, the deLorme grid) in that log entry?
county names in virtual GPS GPX files disagree with GSAK conventions

Howdy,

The virtual gps feature on project-gc.com exports GPX files that introduce atleast one quirk into my gsak databases. This post is to ask for the best way to fix it and if there are any others.

The one oddity that I noticed was the county field gets filled out with odd content. For locations in the US, instead of the County name it is "Countyname County (State Abbreviation)" As an example, "Orange" becomes "Orange County (NY)". Similiar things appear to happen in other countries as well. "Hobart" in Australia becomes "Hobart ©(6)". While fine for human consumption it is causing counties to be miscounted in challenge macros.

Is there a way to align the GSAK names with the project-gc names for the counties inside project-gc.com? (Related question is what does gc.com use?)

My past 24 hour export count exceeding 10000

Hello,

I recently tried exporting some caches through the virtual GPX function. I had exported some the day before and there was a count of 8700 or so. The new group was around 2500. This failed as expected.

However the next time I went to do an export, the count was shown as below.

You can export 10000 geocaches per 24 hour interval as GPX or CSV. You have exported 11541 the last 24 hours. Note that you can export the same geocaches more than once and that they still only count as one.

This suggests that it included the second attempt in the count even though those were not sent out.

It appears there is an overcounting of exports.

Both are combined into an ZIP archive, which some of the geocaching apps can work with. I'm using a app, where fitting gpx-files is possible, but in my case handling several gpx-files at same time does not work correctly.

Knowing this issue, I normally need to combine both created files into a common file, which I then transfer to my moblie phone. Thus I'd request that (optionally, e.g. time by time or in personal settings) it can be decided, how the output of the gpx-file creation looks like, i.e. archive with one combined file or standard each a gpx-file and a gpx-wpts file.

Regards
Can the actual gpx files from a build have a meaningful name

When you build a GPX file, the downloaded zip file has a meaningful name. However the actual gpx files have random (?) file names and completely meaningless outside of the zip wrapper. So when you copy them to a garmin, it's impossible to tell which was what.

Could the meaningful name also be included on the gpx files please

Is it possible to create an IgnoreList of cache (perhaps as a virtual-gps) and then use his when creating a GPX file.

To work much like the Ignore List in geocaching.com. Ideally it would be good to use that actual list (to sve duplicating effort) but this doesn't seem to be visible like other lists.

Or indeed, is there already a way of achieving this that I haven't found/

Comment créer un gpx sur base du nom des caches?

Bonjour,

Je souhaiterais créer le gpx d'une série de cache débutant par un même mot.

Comment faire?

Merci

build gpx result re-binding back to virtual gps

I'm not sure if this is a bug; moreover I think it would be a feature request, so I use this category.

From a "virtual GPS" content I build my gpx. When configuring the build process (before putting the task into the jobs queue), I can select to "refresh the corrected coordinates" (near there it says, when this has been done the last time).

Using "the corrected coordinates" is selected (by default), too. When the job has done, I get the GPX archive with corrected coordinates for true.

Now going back into the virtual GPS and the map view, I'd exspect/request to find these corrected coordinates therein, too.

Thanks and Regards
