Where to add different home locations?

Previously, I used the GCStatistic tool which offered the possiblity to add different home locations with time periods applied to them. Thus, every kind of statics depending on your home location was calculated correctly (distances, angles, ...) and that even in case that you have beein moved to another place.

I could not find any such useful feature here. Would not be that difficult to implement?

Edit (2023-01-16): There is your personal settings page on project-gc where you can maintain also other stuff. Why not offer the possibility for custom homecoordinates with dates there? As long as you are not providing anything there, just take the ones from GC.

Doesnt seemes to make any difference.

We did the change of home country for a friend, Snattarn. From Finland (auto) to Sweden (manual).

This change does that he sees Sweden as first choice in drop down lists.

But the statistics still uses the autogenerated one.

Home location

For some reason my home location has gone out of kilter. My nearest find has gone from one right next to my home to one 400 km away. I did do about 40 caches in that area over the weekend but I was sure that should not affect it.

My groundspeak home coords are correctly reflected.

Any ideas?

How long does it take until Project - GC adjusts to a new home location?

I recently moved, and consequently changed my home location. In the profile stats tab everything changed accordingly with the first update of the stats. However, for tools and other statistics, the page still defaults to my old home location. It's not a big issue, but does anyone know how long it will take?

wrong home coordinates

In the user settings it says that the home coordinates will be updated once a day from the geocaching website.

I recently (30.6.) updated my home coordinates on geocaching.com due to a move and they are still the old ones.

Has there something gone wrong with the update process?

Could i update them by using self support?

Thanks in advance.

yet there do similar challenge checkers exist already...

for instance for GC2VDMF, GC42ZMV, GC3RZE2 - how comes?

the owner could then mention in his listing, that the challenge checker exists, but to use it, we have to have to give access to our home coords to use it. thus we would have the chance to just open our home coords shortly to generate the challenge check, then close it again?

is this a possible solution?

Daily/weekly email: New caches near you

How about a e-mailing option to send out caches published during the previous few days, like the event feature?

For example, every [sunday] I will get an email with all the [cache-types] published within [distance] km from my home coordinates during [last sunday to this saturday]. They would be shown on a map for easy overview.

How can you determine the home coordinates for a user?

I am interested in creating several challenge checkers that depend on knowing the home coordinates of a cacher.

In looking over the sandbox API, there does not appear to be any function that can retrieve this information.

In checking other scripts that use coordinates and distance calcuations, everyone seems to be using hard-coded coordinates and there is no general use of determining a cacher's home location. Which of course is not usable for a lot of challenges related to distance.

I know this is potentially private information and a user may choose to not share this information. In this case a script would not be able to get those coordinates.

But if it is shared, how can you get it?
