How to change location for event notifications

We recently moved from Texas to Utah. I am still getting event notifications from Project-GC for Texas events. Home location changed on geocaching.com. What do I need to do?

log diff - should show when log type changes, e.g. "note" to "found it". Edited logs notifier should also be triggered.

Both the "log diff" tool and the "edited logs notifier" should trigger and display when the log type changes.

Several of my caches have logging requirements, and if they don't satisfy the requirements, I may need to delete their log. Sometimes persistent newbies will keep trying to log it and I have to delete the logs again.

I get an email with every new log, so I know to check qualifications then, but if a user logged it as a "note", then waited a while, and then changed it to a "found it", I would not have any notification of that and their log may stay without my knowledge.

Getting edited log emails about opted-out cachers that opted out years ago. Did the system change>

I receive edited log emails from time to time when a cacher opts out of data collection, and I understand the reason.

Lately, it seems I am receivng them again, for cachers who already opted out, and for whom I was previously emailed.

Why am I being notified again? Did something change in the system to cause new notifications? Is the system running the "edited logs" notifications again for data that was lost and has been restored?

Edited logs notifications doesn't report before / after but only that there is a change

Do i parametrise it wrong, but this "Edited logs notifications" feature report well that something were changed, but not exactly what is changed, found text that change for a typo, found text that change a lot or even a 'not found' or 'note' changed to a 'found' that could be strange if for few years ago (that i spot, but cannot exploit because missing detail)

Could a real before / after view being reported for change?

Hello,

I think that this feature do not capture original log type correctly. I'm using it for a long time, but I don't remember if I've ever seen indication of changed type of log - it always says "Found it Found it" or "Write note Write note", even when player has changed the type of his log.

This is example, where I know 100% that player has changed Found it to Write note, because I asked him to do so. Project-GC is notifying me about Write note to Write note. Unfortunately, it seems to me that most important part of this feature does not work.

Can anyone verify and confirm, please? Is it possible to fix it?

Edited logs notifier API problem?

Hello, for the last two weeks I've been receiving edited logs in a weird format. There is always §OPTOUT and some numbers instead of nickname and phrase "Content unavailable. This user has opted-out of sharing certain information with API Authorized Developers.". When I look at the profile, sometimes the users are inactive for some years and it doesn't seem they changed their logs ever.

Is it possible that there is some bug in this function?

I was going to ask: "How do I stop these email notifications" but I found it.

Something like a unfollow topic/comment option in the "My updates" section would be nice. Because now I had to go looking for my comment in the list to edit it and uncheck the "email me" checkbox.

in the email, the url below "You may respond by adding another comment:" is not clickable
The "Unsubscribe" link in the mail, links to https://project-gc.com/qa/feedback which gets a 404 error

FP notification without names

I' m using the FP notification feature.

So I get every day a mail with added FP. This works well

But sometimes I get a mail WITHOUT the Cachername who removed a FP.

The Cachername who removed a FP is shown ais §OPTOUT§..

Is this a feature or a failure? I would like to see who removed a FP.

Anonymous Geocachers also caused an additional increase by 1 FP

Today I recieved a Favorite point notification (see below)
It was aFP from a Anonymous grocacher !! How is that possible ??

Have notification for edited logs on own caches stopped working?

I have up until recently received notifications from pgc on edited logs on my own caches very nicely. But now this function seems to have stopped. Last notification was on 16th of september. Anyone else experience the same scenario?

And, Yes, I know there are edited logs after that, I am still a paying member (membership payed until 2022) and I have checked that notification for edited logs still is ticked under my settings on project-gc.

Since a few months I get FP notification, in which (mostly the same cachers) remove and add a Favo point at the same time. However, this is not done by the user, but by the system. What's going wrong?

FP summary notification email bug?

It seems that the received/removed FP notification has a bug since a few days!?

I have received several daily emails notifying me, that loggers have removed favorites but on the cache details no names are shown in the removed colomn. In other mails the cache details shows cacher names have removed a favorite but they have obviously never logged this cache from what I can see from my found emails so it's also not from a deleted log...

Does anyone else see such errors?

Event notifier email after event

I have categorized this as a bug report since it does not make much sense to send out a notification of a pending event after the event has been held.

I just got an event notification for an event today:

Distance calculation error in new cache notification email?

I know the new cache notification emails are still in beta mode, but I'm seeing something odd.

I hadn't paid attention to the distance and direction from home section until today. I would expect this would reflect the distance and direction from my home, which it does not appear to do.

We live in coastal Virginia, USA, at roughly N 37° 9' W 76° 34', and in our project-gc profile, home location is manually overridden, so it should not change.

The emails we have gotten have been way off in terms of how far these caches are from our home location, and it doesn't appear to make sense how the distance and direction are calculated.

GC7B9Q4 shows as 383.7 km from home (355° N), when according to geocaching.com, it should be over 5500 km from us, to the northeast. (A projected waypoint shows that the email thinks we live in the English Channel, along the ferry route from Dublin to Cherbourg.)

GC7B9PG shows as 1273.5 km from home (13° NNE), when it should be over 7000 km from us, to the northeast. (Projected waypoint from this one is just south of Palermo, Sicily.)

GC7B67Q shows as 3273.5 km from home (319° NW), when it should be 4000 km from us, to the northwest. (Projected waypoint is somewhere in the Mojave Desert, south of Las Vegas.)

Driving distance for all of these, by the way, is 0 km, 0 minutes.

Mail notification photos : size

Hello,

In the notification mail containing photos from logs (read with Gmail and/or Mailbird), these are in very large format (preventing them from seeing correctly, and preventing to see easily the right information including legend, coordinates, etc.).

Is it possible to resize these photos in the smaller email format?

Background Job notifies with double mail

Since some time, at least yesterday but I guess it's a longer period,

when I issuing a background job for creating a gpx with selection 'send an email when done', I get two mails on job readiness.

In some days this issue will celebrate its first birthday, but there are some days left to find the cause :-)

Broken images (cache icons) in FP notification mails

In recent FP notificaton emails, the cache icon images are broken. It looks like "http:" is missing in the URLs.

Today I thought about a "Publish notifier" for specific owners as a nice to have feature.

Why? There are some owners who only place very nice caches. Not all of them are in my homezone but definitely worth visiting, so it would be nice if I could get an Email whenever they publish a new cache. (Also an Email once a week would be enough)
