Project-GC Edited logs notifier - incorrect information about log type

Hello,

I think that this feature do not capture original log type correctly. I'm using it for a long time, but I don't remember if I've ever seen indication of changed type of log - it always says "Found it Found it" or "Write note Write note", even when player has changed the type of his log.

This is example, where I know 100% that player has changed Found it to Write note, because I asked him to do so. Project-GC is notifying me about Write note to Write note. Unfortunately, it seems to me that most important part of this feature does not work.

Can anyone verify and confirm, please? Is it possible to fix it?

I am regularly getting these - most are from cachers who appear to have 'opted out' and these are old logs dating back several years - I am aware there are other threads on this but my question hasn't been answered on those (I don't believe) hence asking this as a new question

Is it possible to see what the amendements are ?

I get the notification - have to trawl through all the logs to get to the relevant one but I am just looking at a log - I have no idea what the original log was or what, in that was amended

I am not informed of any of this in the "we have detected 1 new edited logs on 1 geocaches that you own." email that I recieve as a notifier

Have I missed how to get this information ?
Can I get this information ?
How is this of any use if I am not able to compare the two ?

Hello, for the last two weeks I've been receiving edited logs in a weird format. There is always §OPTOUT and some numbers instead of nickname and phrase "Content unavailable. This user has opted-out of sharing certain information with API Authorized Developers.". When I look at the profile, sometimes the users are inactive for some years and it doesn't seem they changed their logs ever.

Is it possible that there is some bug in this function?

New cache notifiers - First log URL incorrect

The New cache notifiers send out a log when a new cache gets its first found it log. I have noticed recently that the URL for the cache in that message is incorrect and listed as https://coord.info/GLZZZZZZ

The URL previously reflected the cache that corresponded with the actual cache.

Looking at past emails the URL was correct on Oct 6th but all notifications since Oct 8th have listed the URL as https://coord.info/GLZZZZZZ

Feature Request: Archived cache notifiers

Similar to the new cache notifiers, it would be great to be notified when caches are archived in a certain region.

Is it possible to create a notifier for new challenge caches?

I have some GC cache notifiers and some PGC event notifiers and I wanted to create a PGC cache notifier for new challenges.

But is it possible to create a notifier based on the partial name "challenge" or on the "has checker" attribute?

New Cache Notifier doesn't work

I followed your advice to create a list of new caches from a certain owner but it doesn't work. Of none of the caches that were published after 09/01/18 (that's the date when I created the notifier) I was informed by mail.

But: all the caches I talk about are hidden already in June or July 2018. Could that be the reason why the notifier skript can't identify them as "new"?

Inconsistent results between multiple new cache notifiers (digest)

So lets start off with the new cache notifiers are great. The digest mode is what I use.

So why this post? I have two notifiers set up one for Texas, and one for "Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisianna".. My expectation is that the Texas one would always have fewer than the bigger one. And than anything in the Texas one would show up in the bigger one. The bigger land area has one has Texas caches listed, but the two never seem to have the same same cache. It appears either in one or the other.

Is this the expected behavior? Are the few Texas ones I see coming through the results that the emails are generated at different times?

My plan is to disable the Texas one and see what happens. My concern is that I lose notifications.

Event notifier email after event

I have categorized this as a bug report since it does not make much sense to send out a notification of a pending event after the event has been held.

I just got an event notification for an event today:

It is marked as having been sent at 16:12 today. The event was today at 11:00. It was published at March 9th.

Can we have the ability to see miles in the notifications?

New cache notifier based on cache owner

The feature I have been missing the most in new cache notifiers is the option to get an email when a certain owner has published a new cache. I have a bunch of owners I like a lot and would be glad to receive a notification if one of them has created a new cache. With only geography-based filtering I get a lot of false positives.

It would be fantastic if I could set up a list of cache owners in the PCG new cache notifier section and get an email if one of these owners has published something new. Additional filtering for cache type would also be nice.

I hope also other users might find this an useful feature.

Can we get the option to change the new cache notifications to imperial units?

PGC New cache notifiers - Your opinion?

Recently I have discovered this new feature of PGC. Great! Really much helpful and powerful tool. I like there is no perimeter limit and the format of the incoming mail is just super. Contains all the useful listing info, including geocache location maps with few zoom levels. I like the possibility to set the whole country and all of the types of caches notification in just one request. Very useful nowadays, when new virtuals are coming out. Concerning the daily/monthly usage limits, I have no objection. In my opinion 100/500 is quite enough. My experience is, that there is only and exactly one minute delay of the notification email comparing to the "original" one from the GC site. What I only miss, and consider the essential function, it is not working filter for regions/counties yet. With this filter the feature will become just perfect.

What is your opinion about and experience with the PGC New cache notifier?

Edited Logs Notifier - include genuine log

I'm appreciating and gladly using all of the PGC features, especially since I've turned paying member few years ago. You are getting closer to the perfection.

My concern at this moment are the logs edited on the geocaches I own. Even though there are not really much of them. Do not considere this any request, please. Rather a pure question.

Would it be technically possible to include the genuine logs in the emails sent by the "Edited logs notification"?

Well, I know, I can compare the new, edited log with the genuine one, saved in my mailbox. Still it would spare my time, if I saw both in one email and so I could get the info immediately and get the clue, what and why has it been changed. Especially if it happens with few years' old logs.

Add Notifier for Challenge logs

I'd love a (paying members only?) notifier option for Challenge logs.

When a cacher logs a Challenge cache as Found It (or changes an existing log to Found It), and the Challenge cache has a checker, the CO would get an email with the result of the checker for that cacher.

This should be limited to Challenge CO's that have a Project-GC account.

It would make log validation for my Challenges a lot easier.

like

number of caches found, parameter the number reach or the multiple of 100, 1000

Fil a specific % of the 81 type, find a 5/5, etc....

You offer already notifiers for edited logs and for FPs, which I both find very handy.

Is it also possible to get notified if someone adds pictures to a log (for a cache that I have hidden)? That would be very interesting!

Feature request: Notification of posted photos

This has been mentioned before, but was buried under a different topic.

Currently we can get email notifications when favourite points are posted to a cache. It would be nice to have the same facility with posted photographs, as personally I would like to see them, but I don't get told if any are posted unless it is mentioned in the log.

The email should contain a link to the cache(s), and to the log containing the photo(s), and maybe to the photos themselves.

By the way, this applies to trackables as well as caches. Although I suspect PGC does not collect trackable logs so may not be able to detect trackable photos at the moment.
