Oldest/Youngest cache found interpretation

Hi everyone,

This question may sound ridiculous, but it's really bothering me.
In the profile stats, there is a stat called "Youngest cache found" and "Oldest cache found".
I wonder how "youngest" and "oldest" are interpreted here, since I see 2 ways to interpret this and I would like to know which interpretation Project-GC uses.

Oldest could mean :
1) Simply the cache with the earliest hidden date of all caches I have found. Youngest would then mean the cache with the most recent hidden date I have found, so basically the age of the cache until today is taken into account.
2) The cache that was the oldest when I found it. So the highest number of days between the hidden date and the date I found it. This would mean the youngest would in many cases be a FTF, with an age of less than a day when found.

Kind regards,
AxelFox.

Can I use map counties to get just the oldest cache in a particular county (or counties)?

I am working on what might end up as a challenge cache, but for now is just a personal challenge. I am trying to find the oldest cache in each county in Illinois. Right now, I have most of them in one database. BUT, I am still missing caches in 24 counties for Illinois. So, my questions are as follows:

1 - Can I use a function of project-gc to give me the oldest caches in each of these particular counties? I played with the map compare function, but I am hoping to find an easier method.

2 - I also used the PQ splitter to see what it would take to get all of the caches in Illinois. I used that to get the majority of the caches currently active in Illinois, but I am still trying to find a faster & easier way to do this other than run another 30 or so PQs.

3 - I saw that I can set up a trial period for a full account. I may do that to try this out. I certainly like what I have seen so far. I assume that this would allow me to use the map counties feature. Is this correct?

Thanks all!.

Profile Stats - Oldest Cache found

Is it possible for caches with a hidden date prior to May 2000 to be ignored in the table of Oldest caches found in Profile Stats?

In my view Oldest caches should be on the actual date hidden not on some fictitious date set by the cache owner. While it is impossible to determine which caches have fictitious hidden dates this change will at least eliminate the obvious ones.

>>>> edited date to May 2000

Cache appears twice in oldest caches found

In these stats http://project-gc.com/ProfileStats/Ev1l%2081tch , my cache GC4C35 (cuckoo cache) is listed twice in the oldest cache section.

I suspect that this is because the cacher has found this particular cache twice (this is legitimate for this particular cache as it is a grandfathered moving cache which can be logged whenever it is moved somewhere different).

Finding the oldest cache in a Country

Is there a way to find the oldest caches in a country, including archived caches? If not, would it be possible to produce one please? I'm interested in visiting the original / early locations.

Thanks.

Profile stats order: "Oldest found" and "Finds by hidden month"

The presentation order of Profile Stets shows "Oldest caches found", then two other unrelated tables, and then "Finds by Hidden Month".

Oldest caches are related to Finds by Hidden Month so it would be nice if the Hidden month table appeared first, and then the oldest caches straight afterwards please? When i read the Hidden month table then I'm wondering which caches people have found for their older finds so this order flows better.

Bug report in Oldest caches found

I have two ancient caches which were placed on the same day and I found in one day, but they appear in the wrong order:

GC177 Tim &Jon's 1st Re-Stashed

GC171 View from Coombe Hill

They were both placed on 01/14/2001, I suspect that I found them in that order but the GC code suggests that GC171 should be higher in the table?

It's certainly not an important bug, just a minor irritation!
