Why don't paying customers automatically get enough reputation to vote on forum issues?

Limiting upvoting discourages valuable feedback from new users and encourages duplicate questions just to achieve enough reputation points.
I have been a paid subscriber for a number of years but have not been very active on the forum.
Why should that be required to give feedback?
IMO, everyone should be able to upvote issues but at least paying customers should have that ability.

Today I attempted to upvote a great suggestion but could not do so because my 120 reputation is below the unclear threshold (130?):

project-gc is a great toolkit but the certain UI features are very non-intuitive. Most notably, the filters on region and county maps do not behave in an expected manner.

I found this excellent suggestion but it may languish unheeded if only those with reputation can upvote it.

challenge exceptions disabled checkers

So in the past, I wrote some checkers for caches that did not have challenge in the name and got the dreaded:

The following tags has been disabled because they seem to reference geocaches that does not look like challenge caches.

Have all the caches that someone wrote a checker for but rejected been entered into the exception system as needing voting? If someone wrote a checker then it likely is a challenge.

Also can we send the tagger's a message to enable their checkers when they pass muster?

Challenge exceptions: Allow to hide achieved caches from list

Currently the Challenge exceptions are listing archived caches to be voted on.

Since it does not improve the current geocaching game play to check on archived challenges I would like these to be removed from the list of caches to be voted on!

Keep the new UK polygon data?

This week we have updated polygon data for the United Kingdom. This included updating data for Scotland which had old and very broken data before, and for Wales.

It also ended up with some changes for England. We have used the data from OpenStreetMap as we normally do. For all other countries we use the data defined as administrative borders. Their data is described here, http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:boundary%3Dadministrative.

The OSM data can be viewed online here, https://osm.wno-edv-service.de/boundaries/

We know many argue for using ceremonial borders for UK. Our tools doesn't allow that today and it would be quite a lot of work. Our old data didn't use them either, so there is no difference for this case. All other countries use the administrative borders, so it's a way more consistent with the rest of the world.

Considering we are using Metropolitan and non-metropolitan, the data we have now should be as correct as OSM has it. The future changes should then be minor, and only change if OSM changes their data (not live, it's still a manual task).

The question is, should we keep this data, or use the old data? Remember, using the old data will ruin the data of Scotland again.

We also just fixed a bug with the maps in Profile stats. If they rendered weirdly for you, hold down shift or ctrl while refreshing the page and it should fix itself.

Feel free to leave a comment about your thoughts.

Support GCVote

	It would be cool if you support GCVote (http://gcvote.com), especially on your cool filterable live map.

	In my opionion the star-vote system is much better than GS's FPs and here in Germany GCVote is used by many cachers.

	The api is to use:

 http://gcvote.com/getVotes.php?waypoints=GCMW06,GC3KXGQ

 https://ssl.webpack.de/gcvote.com/getVotes.php?waypoints=GCMW06,GC3KXGQ

	The result would be a xml document:

 <votes userName='' currentVersion='3.3' securityState='locked' loggedIn='false'>

 <vote userName='' cacheId='7f9707d4-c374-4640-a376-ed13c4a7a89d' voteMedian='3' voteAvg='2.91' voteCnt='50' voteUser='0' waypoint='GCMW06' vote1='0' vote2='12' vote3='35' vote4='2' vote5='1' rawVotes='(2.0:10)(2.5:2)(3.0:30)(3.5:5)(4.0:2)(5.0:1)'/>

 <vote userName='' cacheId='9f43bb11-13d2-4e12-8a67-b04f662c27b9' voteMedian='3' voteAvg='3' voteCnt='3' voteUser='0' waypoint='GC3KXGQ' vote1='0' vote2='1' vote3='2' vote4='0' vote5='0' rawVotes='(2.5:1)(3.0:1)(3.5:1)'/>

 <errorstring></errorstring>

 </votes>

	If you have questions please let me know.

	Disclaimer: I'm not the owner of GCVote, but I am involved in the development of GCVote's browser extensions.
